Your 3.984 won't count (positive handicap). Now, like Eggstor mentioned, the computation would be

(3.984 x 4 + 3.204) / 5 = 3.828

BUT: this is true only in the long run, when you have at least 4 events behind you. Since this is your first event, I believe (I could be wrong) that the computation would be rather

(3.984 x 2 + 3.204) / 3 = 3.724

since the qualifier has a weight of 2 (I think). So, in either case, it's not enough to get you into D3 silver (cutoff is 3.667), but the latter case would bring you pretty close.

But is there a more appropriate thead to understand this? Just trying to understand why a .2xx followed by a -.5xx is worse than the original when the net is -.3xx.

I don't want to bog down the wrong thread with this, but I need to understand how it works. If the rules aren't transparent, I'll waste no more time here.
 
The Registry Discussion thread, but its not 100% transparent and it doesn't need to be, down to the thousandth. The formulas need adjustment along the way when you have PD throwing curveballs and events of varying diffculty. Just put in your best efforts, work on improving, and the promotions will follow.

I think it will be updated once you post new split times.

To add to what you've already been told, you need to have three verified submissions before you'll be eligible for promotion, and then you'll be promoted a week after the third result if your handicap has improved enough.

Just noticed this now. I'm really pleased to be in D3 Gold. Hopefully I can keep pushing for D2 :D:gtpflag:

I'm gonna give you a little more company / competition in Division 3 as soon as the registry reopens. I've run the last few TT in the shadows and I've been eerily close to Roesza...about 0.02 behind in the AMG and 0.01 ahead in the alpine. If I recall correctly, there may have been a full 10th between us on the Nurb 24!

I better get cracking on this weeks tt if I have any chance of a promotion in the next few weeks.

You would ve surprised. I felt the same way couple of months ago when they kicked me out of D3.
While I had to say goodbye to podiums I set some goals for myself to stay motivated.
For example:
1. Finish better than last in D2
2. Beat the fastest D3 times
3. Get a negative handicap
4. Be the fastest of D2B
5. Move up to D2S
