  • These are Time Trial Events, we have Online Races here.
  • Set the game up according to the event, car and track details below.
  • Save Your BEST LAP replay before exiting your session.
  • Be sure and run cleanly to the end of the first sector after setting your fast lap. If you exit right away, your time stamp may not show up in your replay.
  • Report your split times in here, so you can compare your pace to other racers, without revealing the full lap time. (Note: this is required if participating)
  • Our leaderboard shows how you stack up during the week, before the deadline.
  • Submit your lap via PM to our Fetchbot, before the event deadline.
  • On deadline day, we will publish the results in our leaderboard and in a thread in this section.
  • Identified replays will be checked by your fellow participants to be sure you meet the event regulations.

  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible.
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty.

  • Red Tarmac edge and white lines are track.
  • Start line speed will be verified to be within a tolerance to ensure a speed advantage exploit has not been utilized.

Steward's Comments:
Mitsubishi. In the 90's, they ruled the world for a period of time, making the cool, desirable sports cars that everyone craved. Here in the US, any 20 something worth their salt had an Eclipse, and the 3000GT was a halo car among halo cars. This week, we use the latter, but in Japan and Europe, it was marketed at a GTO. That would never happen here, the GTO was the original muscle car, the one that started it all. A GTO needs to have a split grille and a big V-8. This is decidedly NOT at GTO. But it IS fun, and has a place in the conversation, as a 3000GT. :)

Saving Replays, Viewing sector times and Submissions:
  • You need to make sure you use the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below).
  • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
  • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
  • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.
  • When saving your fastest lap replay please ensure that you watch the replay to the end and that it displays your full lap time. Any replays submitted that do not show the posted lap time will result in a DQ.
  • Remember - When you submit your time you're also declaring that your run is 100% clean. We request replays for the purpose of verifying to all those concerned that the drivers claim is correct, which in turn safeguards the integrity of the driver, and just as importantly, the WRS. The golden rule is to check your replay before submission. If you’re still unsure, check it again, ask for a second opinion and if you’re still undecided, run the lap again.

  • Please submit your FULL LAP TIME in the following format on a single line:
    X:XX.XXX

  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 121 Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week just reply to the conversation with your new time. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • The deadline is Monday, March 23rd 2020 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site.
Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Checking:
  • Division winners and overperformers will be required to submit a replay via the GT Sport Share function for verification AFTER Unofficial Results have been posted.
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Replay Verify Required).
  • Video/Youtube/Twitch replays are not accepted as a form of verification.

Good luck,
:gtplanet: & The WRS team.

I can already hear and feel the understeer...

Will jump on this one soon, should be fun combo!!!

Thank you for getting this one up and posted.
I know I was late. Off this week, was supposed to go to Sebring. And now at home for the week. I was lazy yesterday, knowing I had today to do it.

Guessing your normal travel schedule is cut back?

I'm wondering if the airlines and hotels are going to adjust the Elite tier thresholds this year.

Hey look, it's a car I can maybe afford this week!

Wide body mitchybitchy (as my mom called them) are fuuuuuun. We use to hoon about in a 3kGT in the late 90s. Fast in a straight line, better have a football field to turn if above 10 mph. Yes sir. I'll take it with a lot of rear break bias.. +7 sounds right. Dont forget to flick it in the corners and when you think you can make it, just go ahead and wait a little longer, cause she's gonna push you like octo mom giving natural birth.

Good luck all. Enjoy it.

Yeah, sorry about that. I was in a funk earlier today. I have been following a little girl on facebook for the past 14 months who had cancer. When I started following her, the doctors said she only had days to live, then early april made 14 months since they told her that. Unfortunately, she lost the good fight last night and I'm having a tough time with it, even if I never even met the child. Anyways, I was just trying bring myself out of it. Once again, sorry for the rambling.

I think he was being serious. That was a great post. 👍

On another note, I wish I was going to Sebring this week. I wanted to 🤬 wear shorts.

You can wear shorts. Just don't go outside.

Or you could be like those fruits that wear those weird spandex tights and then put shorts over them, but I don't think you're *quite* old enough for that yet.

To kill time we could elaborate on the GTO name and its origin. Don't want to be a stubborn European but probably Modena cars were named so before the Americans?
Also, probably few people know what the abbreviation actually stands for and for what it was used.
But this might be for another thread.
Please everybody be carefull and stay healthy

That was kind of my point Steven, that where you live is likely to influence your view of the GTO name.

Certainly Ferrari gets credit for being "first", and the acronym actually stands for "Gran Turismo Omologato", which is Italian if I've ever seen it.

When I was growing up, I asked my dad what "GTO" stood for, and he said "Goes like hell".

Ferrari only made 36 250 GTO's, so when you do a Google search and only put in GTO, the first page listed is the disambiguation.

The next one listed is this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_GTO

And from that article.

Pontiact GTO Wiki
The name, which was DeLorean's idea, was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO, the successful race car. It is an Italian abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologato ("grand tourer homologated"), which means officially certified for racing in the grand tourer class. In reality, however, the Pontiac GTO was never really a certified Grand Tourer race car. Internally, it was initially called the "Grand Tempest Option", one of many automobiles in the Pontiac line up with a 'Grand' in it. Despite these things, the GTO is one of the fastest cars ever manufactured by Pontiac.

Pontiac made over 500,000 GTO's. So when one references 'a GTO' here, the Pontiac is the only one people think of.

And that's the reason Mitsubishi was smart enough NOT to market their car as a GTO here.

From the wiki page for this car.

Mitsubishi GTO Wiki
The JDM model took its name from the Galant GTO, a two-door hardtop coupé marketed by the company in the early 1970s, which in turn took its name from the Ferrari 250 GTO, short for Gran Turismo Omologata which signified that it met motorsport homologation regulation. In most export markets, Mitsubishi called their product the 3000GT so as not to disrespect or cause confusion between the GTO name used by other manufacturers.

In Germany it was sold as the 3000GT and I'm pretty sure everywhere else in Europe, too.
Yeah, I messed that up. I guess GTO was JDM only. I must have been thinking of the FTO, which we did not to have.
