Tokyo Expressway-Central Outer Loop

:: Open to All GTPlanet Registry Members ::

:: Members are not obligated to take part ::

Overview (How Does This Work?):
  • You must be part of our registry to participate.
  • These are Time Trial Events, we have Online Races here.
  • Set the game up according to the event, car and track details below.
  • Save Your BEST LAP replay before exiting your session.
  • Be sure and run cleanly to the end of the first sector after setting your fast lap. If you exit right away, your time stamp may not show up in your replay.
  • Report your split times in here, so you can compare your pace to other racers, without revealing the full lap time. (Note: this is required if participating)
  • Our leaderboard shows how you stack up during the week, before the deadline.
  • Submit your lap via PM to our Fetchbot, before the event deadline.
  • On deadline day, we will publish the results in our leaderboard and in a thread in this section.
  • Identified replays will be checked by your fellow participants to be sure you meet the event regulations.

Standard Clean OLR Rules (These Apply to ALL Events):
  • The event MUST be run using your registered PSN account.
  • The use of the clutch is strictly prohibited.
  • Use of the Handbrake is Prohibited.
  • No Contact with walls or other objects. Any contact with walls, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ.
  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times (See image below).
    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible.
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty.

Race Specifics (Rules for This Specific Event):
  • All Hard Surfaces are Track. No Contact with Walls Visible or Invisible.

Steward's Comments:

It's been a long time since we drove the highways of Tokyo, and with it, the fear of walls. The Roadster feels right at home...

Saving Replays, Viewing sector times and Submissions:
  • You need to make sure you use the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below).
  • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
  • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
  • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.
  • When saving your fastest lap replay please ensure that you watch the replay to the end and that it displays your full lap time. Any replays submitted that do not show the posted lap time will result in a DQ.
  • Remember - When you submit your time you're also declaring that your run is 100% clean. We request replays for the purpose of verifying to all those concerned that the drivers claim is correct, which in turn safeguards the integrity of the driver, and just as importantly, the WRS. The golden rule is to check your replay before submission. If you’re still unsure, check it again, ask for a second opinion and if you’re still undecided, run the lap again.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 167 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Please submit your FULL LAP TIME in the following format on a single line:
    X:XX.XXX
    (Example-) 1:10.100
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • For those of you who were used to submitting replays on GT6, you no longer have the ability to export the files.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 167 Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 167 Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week just reply to the conversation with your new time. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • The deadline is Monday, February 8th 2021 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site.
Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Checking:
  • Division winners and overperformers will be required to submit a replay via the GT Sport Share function for verification AFTER Unofficial Results have been posted.
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Replay Verify Required).
  • Video/Youtube/Twitch replays are not accepted as a form of verification.

Good luck,

After several scrapes and massive hits, finally nailed that one perfect lap where I only braked once and kept away from any of the walls. Not sure if I can really do any better considering Tokyo Expressway in general is anxiety inducing.

Hello guys been a long time. My wheel went away for repair today so had to use the controller which I must say isn't bad with the slower cars.

Here are my splits

24.008
20.553
22.881

Lost time entering the tunnel and in the second to last corner, I have seen 23.9s first sector.

If any of the mods can help I have lost my details for my main account. I actually go under Special_K_2181. Is there any way of getting this ID changed?

Thank you

There's some nice times being posted so far, my wheel probably won't be back before the end of this time trial so will see how much I can improve with the Controller

Had another go, getting used to using a pad just hope it's not for to long. It's so hard to be smooth with one.

24.004

Seen one 23.8 first sector but like I say you have to be so smooth with the pad to get it.

Do I need to change my ID myself for the leaderboard or is that not possible?

Does GT Sport have a wall detection setting like we had in GT 6? I'm thinking it would come in handy this week but could not find any thing like that in the settings.

I believe there is.
In arcade mode, ready to run your laps but not on track yet, you should find track settings somewhere in the upper left corner. Next to the save best lap button.

It's under race settings at the top of the screen, it's called wall collision penalty.

Wall collision detection set on strict, and penalties to invalidate lap. Not mandatory but highly recommended. Forgot to add it to the OP.

Bottled a 107.061 split as usual second to last corner:banghead:

Had a time that was nearly half a tenth faster but didn't save as I was chasing the ghost with the split I posted above:D

My optimal lap is 3 tenths faster than what I have, will have another shot at this in the week.

Great times posted so far....where is everybody?:dopey: I was expecting a lot more times being posted while everyone is in lockdown.

I was one of the fortunate ones, living in Guernsey during the first lockdown here we managed to get to 0 cases. We enjoyed freedom for 7 months with no restrictions. Unfortunately we got hit a second time and have now been in lockdown for 10 days, we are only a small island with about 68,000 people.

We currently have 306 cases.

Keep safe everybody.

Cant see me beating this on the pad, I was a bit wide entering the tunnel so would of lost over a tenth there.
Those are some great splits you've got there. Not quite sure why I like your post anyway lol. Will try catching up...

Yeah, as I said will struggle to get anywhere near those with the controller, my wheel is probably a week to 2 weeks before I get it back. It would be interesting to see what splits I could manage on the wheel as I think this track is made for one. There's so many sweeping turns where you need to keep your speed up which is very difficult on the pad.

I was a controller driver for a very long time before @EDK (AKA the wheel fairy lol) sent me a G29 for Christmas a couple years ago. And yes, long, sweeping turns are a lot harder to get right. Probably Suzuka was the hardest track on a DS4 for me, my thumb sore after a session...
That's a very nice place you live in, I used to work with private bankers for RBC, and they had this coffee table book about Guernsey and Jersey that I used to browse while being there...

Nice when we are able to go out and about.

I tried to use the controller on ACC, it's awful, in GTS its not the worst in the slower cars I find but high powered cars with no TCS.. forget it:lol:

Hi all.

Might give this or next weeks a go, but generally don't enjoy this track combo. Will do a few between the daily races and see what I can come up with!
My psn has changed to Bertracer but not sure if that affects anything regarding listing times here?

You are ok to post times. We will just have you note your PSN if you need to share your replay.
