Replay Checking:



  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Well that's my first positive handicap from 12 submissions, and a close one at that! :lol:

Apologies to whomever is checking my replay, the suspect moment is around 1'00.5 onwards 👍

I've checked all the frames myself without evidence of contact, and no rpm drop from the data logger either... But my paranoid self can't help but worry :boggled:
 
Is there a procedure I can reference on how to review the replay. I assumed it was just reverse of how we submit it but the PS3 does not like the unzipped file, says its corrupted.

EDIT: Adjusted to reflect @GTP_mcsQ clean lap. Apologies I did the checks just before I left for work this morning and my phone wouldn't allow me to copy and paste the green flag.

Also I don't know why some of the @ tags aren't working, the names just aren't appearing in the list :confused:

Bit disappointed in my result :drool: was hoping to be within 1.5 sec from the winner so then 2+ is to much difference. I think I just couldn't carry enough speed through the corners. :confused:

- very smooth driving and fine lines 👍. You loose it in the two fast chicanes. There was no need to lift the 2nd and shifting to 4th while changing direction in the 1st gives a better exit

- you could have taken turn 1 a bit faster and a tiny bit earlier on the throttle in the tripple combo would have given you some extra time in sector 1. The little lift you do in the 2nd fast chicane isn't necessary but doesn't cost much time. very nice looking lap! You're taking a bit far line into the hairpin. In sector 3 you loose it in the downhill zone and the exit of the close right. Wasn't necessary to break for the left into the downhill and you could have been earlier on the throttle and closer out of the following right

If I'm in front of the ghost, I'm always looking back, and when chasing, I look at the ghost rather than the track. :dopey:

I don't know how the fast guys manage to get the cars to stick like they do. I sometimes feel like I've got the wrong tyres on when I compare my lap to the D1 guys. :dunce:
 
I have no idea how you guys squeezed so much time out of this combo, really nice driving up top. I have felt a bit out of my league the last couple weeks.

Before I clean up most of what still needs to be checked, a restatement of a couple of green flags Fetchy didn't quite catch (lousy typos and attempts to ping people within the green flag parsing):

overall you have really good driving lines, particularly in T3, and very consistent laptimes :lol: corner speeds weren't bad but I would suggest being less hesitant on the throttle exiting certain corners. Provided you have smooth steering input, you can get away with flooring it sooner than you might think. Also noticed you were using 2nd gear in unnecessary places, it was only more beneficial at the hairpin 👍

firstly, nice paint job! Your turn 1 was very aggressive which worked well, however you took a very early apex for the following chicane which cost you some exit speed, despite flooring it early. In T2, you could've stayed in 3rd gear approaching the hairpin, the hairpin itself was very good, but you short shift at the exit and it dulls the power a little too much. The same happened at the last corner, good apex speeds but shifting into 4th a tad too early cost you some time on the approach to the line.

This was fun to watch however more likely to promote wheelspin and hesitation on the throttle, so being smooth was the key for most corners. For turn 1 I note you were using the throttle and brake simultaneously... it was quicker to brake hard while letting go of the gas. Your hairpin was decent but shifting to 3rd later rather than short-shifting would've helped the exit speed. The chicane before T2 was very good though, taking it flat was the way to go! Lines in T3 were generally good, too 👍

Guys I have a(stupid)question.Those events are only for hotlaps?The European lobby which I registered and its tomorrow is just for hotlaps or are we going to race also?

That lap was a one-off and is ~.35 better than what I am able to consistently do so I am not surprised it was trashy. I will attempt to implement your suggestions tomorrow night to see if I can improve my time and do it consistently (which is more important to me).

That's a race (2 actually because you'll be using both the Levin and the Sprinter). Usually it's a longer race with at least 1 pit stop and a formation lap, but because it's 2 sprint races, it will be a grid start with a false start check like the Career races. I have no idea whether the tires/fuel will hold out for 13 laps because tire wear/fuel consumption will be set to very fast.

If you're using the rich text editor, once you start typing a GTP ID after a "@", you should start to see a drop-down list of IDs that start with what you typed in. You can either click on that name to insert it into the post or complete it yourself, and it should auto-link to that person's profile (and give them an alert that you mentioned them).

Thanks Stephen, it was a case of 3rd time lucky for me after 2 4th places in my first 2 TTs.

Thanks for the tips. I knew I could made a few improvements, but I didn't have the time. About using the 2nd gear, yes I used it on some corner before the tunnel, I tried making the corner in 2nd and 3rd gear and it seams I could exit with some extra speed on 2nd gear, but it I accelerate early on 3rd gear, the result would been different.

One question, what does the "R" between the time and the ID

"R" means you are a Rookie and yet to be assigned a division placement. You will be assigned a division after 3 clean verified time trial events.
