  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Guys it was my first one and i missed the counter steering assist prohibited rule (my fault). I'm not using it for week 58 but realised i had it on weak for week 57.

Thanks for letting us know ahead of the replay check. We'll issue a black flag this time as you're still finding your feet with the rules etc but just to let you know that this would normally get you a red flag.

Nice lap, only 2 things I noticed that could help you. You let the car track out too much to the left on the first of the uphill esses, which compromises your line and speed in the more important corners that follow it. Smoother through there and working to hold the car mid track to set up for the next left is faster.

Second thing that's admittedly tougher - You can take the harbor chicane without braking, just a lift will do.

Nice looking lap, a couple suggestions.

First, looks like you are probably using auto trans, and that hurt you a lot on this combo. Short shifting the car was worth straight line speed, and the awkward downshift at the first left hand turn of the second sector cost you quite a bit in exit speed and traction.

The other thing is just to use the whole track at the chicane, you had close to a half a car width to the right on entrance, which compromised your overall speed.

Last piece is that you actually rushed the car through some of the slowest corners, your minimum speed in the final turn, for example, was faster than the fastest guys, but your line was not optimized, which cost you exit speed and lap time.

Pigpin13
greenflag-gif.152575

You were not short shifting as much as you should have been. I shifted about 60% on the HUD meter, you were more like 90%. That cost you speed throughout the lap.

The only other thing is that you had an awkward line through the first jog in the harbor, which should be flat out. You lifted, and then did not get far enough to the right for the chicane entrance. In turn, you re-lifted a lot due to the compromised line.

I suggest watching replays from some of the fast guys to see what line they took through there. Even if you wanted to be more conservative with how much speed you scrub for the chicane, a better line would set you up to take it with more speed.

Great post with some very helpful tips, good to see others helping out other members of the WRS community. 👍

Thanks for checking my replay

Congrats everyone, really fun yet frustrating challenging combo. I wish I'd had more time on it, but still happy with a slightly neg handicap.

Thanks for the advice. It’s very helpful. The areas you mentioned are the two I found most challenging to get right on a consistent basis. One minute I’d get it right the next I’d be off line slightly. As for the chicane it just felt like the car was on its limit on the exit and seemed to drain confidence as it felt very unsettled. I did find toward the end that you can get away with a slight lift and it helped if the car was straight and had no steering input that a slight lift was possible. To get through quickly.
Overall a very challenging combo that was very difficult to get consistent laps together.

Hi EDK, thanks for checking my lap and the tips! As I use the controller I have difficulties with the coordination of the fingers so I need to use auto trans. And indeed on the first left I noticed that I was slightly faster taking all the corners in 4th gear but my main concern was to take the chicane as fast as possible without touching walls. In that chicane I had the best results by taking the exit in the middle of the track because going more wide gave me a more difficult angle and I ended up in the wall every time. The last corner was too fast indeed and that's because of the result of the faster exit at the chicane. As I was always missing that chicane I was used to a certain braking point on the last corner, and I made the mistake by not correctly judging my braking point because of the higher speed. But I'm happy in general with the result and as this is my first TT with GT Sports and getting used to the new controller I will improve in the next TTs!

Congrats to all podium placers and division winners

Good lap, the only thing I would suggest is to use more track. You sacrificed speed entering the chicane not being wide enough. The same could be said for the right hander at the bottom of the hill.

You can really ride most the rumble strips around here, doing that would of improved your time further 👍

Have I done something wrong in checking those replays? The leader board hasn't updated, or does it have to be done manually
It's more of a PC functionality than mobile device, not sure which you are using. Getting below to work on mobile is possible, but more difficult.

You really have to copy the location of the image (not the image itself), as the fetchbot is looking for the URL. I have put it below with an asterisk in the start of the BB code so you can see what it looks like, but I also edited your posts to update as well.

Hi EDK, thanks for checking my lap and the tips! As I use the controller I have difficulties with the coordination of the fingers so I need to use auto trans.

I use a controller also and, while it may take a bit of time to get the coordination right, it is vital to find a way to work the gears manually. The autobox will not only prevent you short shifting as you needed to do with this combo but it will also prevent you from holding a gear deeper into the redline as you may need to with some other cars.

There are a few options open to you but, personally, I find what works best for me is using the R2 trigger as the throttle and the L2 trigger to brake and I operate the gears by upshifting with the R1 button and downshifting with the L1 button while steering as per usual with the left stick. It means operating the throttle and brake with the middle fingers and shifting with the forefingers so there is a bit of digital dexterity going on.

As a comparison, I've shared my lap for this combo which, aside from @Saur 's exceptional lap , was reasonably competitive.
