:: Open to All GTPlanet Registry Members ::

:: Members are not obligated to take part ::

    Overview (How Does This Work?):
    • You must be part of our registry to participate.
    • These are Time Trial Events, we have Online Races here.
    • Set the game up according to the event, car and track details below.
    • This week is a 2 lap event, so you will save Your FULL replay after completing your bet 2 consecutive laps at the beginning of a session.
    • Be sure and run cleanly to the end of the first sector after setting your fastest 2 laps. If you exit right away, your time stamp may not show up in your replay.
    • Report your split times in here, so you can compare your pace to other racers, without revealing the full lap time. (Note: this is required if participating)
    • Our leaderboard shows how you stack up during the week, before the deadline.
    • Submit your lap via PM to our Fetchbot, before the event deadline.
    • On deadline day, we will publish the results in our leaderboard and in a thread in this section.
    • Identified replays will be checked by your fellow participants to be sure you meet the event regulations.

Race Specifics (Rules for This Specific Event):

    • Start your race in Arcade Mode/Time Trial.
    • Drive two clean laps in a row.
    • Just after the finish of lap 2, going into the third lap, exit your session.
    • Save the FULL replay.
    • Only the first 2 laps in Time Trial will count, the replay must show laps 1 and 2.
    • Make sure both lap times show up in the replay.
    • You cannot use a session in which your fastest laps occur after laps 1 and 2.
    • Rumble Strips and Tarmac are Track Surface. No other surfaces are track.

    Steward's Comments:
Simple track layout and an easy car to drive here, with one braking zone. The challenge this week - Put together 2 consecutive laps right at the start of a stint.

Saving Replays, Viewing sector times and Submissions:
    • For this event only, you need to make sure you use the 'Save Replay' (Full Reply with Both Laps), not the 'Save Best Lap Replay'
    • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
    • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
    • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
    • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.
    • When saving your fastest lap replay please ensure that you watch the replay to the end and that it displays your full lap time. Any replays submitted that do not show the posted lap time will result in a DQ.
    • Remember - When you submit your time you're also declaring that your run is 100% clean. We request replays for the purpose of verifying to all those concerned that the drivers claim is correct, which in turn safeguards the integrity of the driver, and just as importantly, the WRS. The golden rule is to check your replay before submission. If you’re still unsure, check it again, ask for a second opinion and if you’re still undecided, run the lap again.

    Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on Skype or via other private IM service.):
    • Total combined time for the 2 laps
    • Any sector or lap time detail from your second lap.
    • Any information which can be used to infer your total combined time.
    • If you choose to Share your Replay via GT Sport before the deadline, your time will be considered to be shared publicly which contravenes our rules. Even if you've only shared with Friends.

The following information can be discussed in this thread :
    • The first 3 sectors: T1, and combined T2 and T3 Times (add these together) from your FIRST lap.
    • Example - T1 15.500. T2 26.000 T3 7.500. Post 15.500 and 33.500 which will reflect your full lap time of 49.000.
    • You are welcome to also mention your full lap time from your FIRST lap in your post. But fetchy will want the normal format to those 2 splits.
    • Any settings discussion.
    Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 62 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

    • Please submit your COMBINED 2 LAP TOTAL in the following format on a single line:
      X:XX.XXX
      (Example-) 1:10.100
    • We recommend you use a time calculator to be sure you submit correctly. You can find one at this link.
    • To be sure you have the correct lap times, we suggest you use the lap times shown on the right hand side of the HUD while viewing your replay. Pause when you cross the line after the second lap, and take a note of both times to add into the calculator.
    • If you submit an incorrect total time, your lap will receive a black flag disqualification. So please take your time to get the math right.
    • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
    • For those of you who were used to submitting replays on GT6, you no longer have the ability to export the files.
    • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
    • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 62 Get Entry" and any text in the body.
    • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 62 Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
    • If you want to submit multiple times in the week just reply to the conversation with your new time. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
    • The deadline is Monday, February 4th 2019 11:59pm GMT
    • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site.
    Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

    Replay Checking:
    • Division winners and overperformers will be required to submit a replay via the GT Sport Share function for verification AFTER Unofficial Results have been posted.
    • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Replay Verify Required).
    • Video/Youtube/Twitch replays are not accepted as a form of verification.

    Good luck,

The leaderboard was not cooperative with the split count that I gave it.

I think it must just use the same number of splits for the track once we've used it.

So I am going to have you guys doing math for the splits, not just for your submission.

Split 1 should be your T1 time.

Split 2 should be combined T2 and T3, so that your total time in the board is your first FULL lap.

I will update the OP to reflect this.

I do not want to have to bother our leaderboard creator with something like this, would prefer to keep it to emergencies.

    BB+2

My first lap in this stint was a 47.741.

Also, shift near the limiter, I am using 86 to 87 MPH.

    3rd and 4th only, no 2nd or 5th gear.

Yeah, we are posting first lap, but fetchy was grumpy. So we have to add together T2 and T3. Stating your full lap is optional, but useful.

Not very optimistic how an old fart like me can adapt to doing things differently and having 2 good laps but I welcome the challenge. Should be fun and maddening at the same time, the perfect formula for and addictive combo.

Not sure what to make of this one. Just having a quick go on pad before work. Will reserve judgment for when I set wheel up. Seems good though

I wouldn’t worry too much about brake balance this week as there’s only one braking zone which even that isn’t exactly heavy.
I would practice without traction control on this one as it’s perfect for balancing the throttle through most corners trying to minimise understeer while trying to maximise grip

Brake balance actually has some impact on mid corner handling.

I went to +2 because it allows me to take the esses after T1 split flat.

I was initially at minus BB becasue I liked the brake feel, but there was too much understeer in that section to make it flat out.

Ok I was only half right .
I've managed to get within 0.100 of my target lap time but my repeatable lap time is off that quite a bit. This one is going to take some work. Or I could lower my standards. :dunce:

Not sure what fetchy did not take my info from earlier? Will try again with these new splits....

    15.368
    31.825

    Lap 1 was 47.193

I still have some room to improve thanks to a sloppy final turn on lap 2.

The only difference I've noticed in your messages vs. others.

    You have:

    "Blah blah blah

    xx.xxx
    xx.xxx

    my first lap was xx.xxx."

Suggest putting the splits first thing.

    "xx.xxx
    xx.xxx

    blah blah blah blah.

    My first lap was xx.xxx."

Or, leave out the first lap. He's getting a little confused at times with the combination of words and numbers.

Give him what he wants right away, and I think he will pretty much ignore the other stuff.
