New game, new forum, new panel of judges. I've noticed that there have been some possible challenges made on the boards here, not including Der Alta's, so I think it's time we started to get organized.

This is for judges of the video challenges ONLY

What does it take to be a judge? Read this and find out

Ok guys. Here we go. I'll get all the rules and what not up shortly. But right now we need to get some judges in here that we can depend on. We had about three challenges in the GT3 drift forum just dissolve because judges didn't get there scores in. That CAN NOT happen in this forum.

So, list your nominations. Whoever you think is dependable, knows what they're talking about and can be nonbiased.

We need two types of judges. Head judges and the judging panel. The head judges will run the show with little to no help from anyone else. The panel will be the group that rates the videos in challengs.

We need 3-5 head judges and a panel of at least 12-15 judges to keep things fresh.

Please nominate your picks for head and panel judges. You can nomintate ONE head judge and ONE judge for the panel.

No, you can't nominate yourself. Is your ego really that big? :dopey: There are plenty of members here both old and new that are more then qualified to be a judge.

If we get just enough members, then we'll just leave the panels as is. If we get a whole flood, then I'll conduct a vote for the people you want on YOUR judging panel.

Your posts should look like this:
Head Judge: member name
Panel: member name

Edit: Well you apparently CAN join a comp. so vote who-ever you want, so I'm also still in as a voting option:tup:

Of course judges can join a competition. They just can't be in one and judge it at the same time. that's all.

Uh...what's with the ego? all these drifters here and you can't think of someone else besides yourself that would make a good judge? Sheesh.... 👎
 
Interpret it how you like, but I don't think anyone thus far has shown anything that qualifies them to be a judge. So, on that note, should people be denied nomination just because they weren't here during the GT3 days?

No, just wait for the votings, there are like 20 available places, and like 8 people from GT3, so just relax now:cool: You'll see if you get voted, but not when you continue with this, just await the results.

So im curious now, are the photo competitions going to continue be run the way they are now, or is this new Judging panel going to judge them? I know if we kept doing them they way we are now it would be 1 less thing for the judges to worry about, provided that everyone agrees that its fair the way they are. Im open to anything

TankSpanker has been an active member here and like someone else said, he knows his stuff
d3p0 is also a new member, but does a good job of following the rules here, is an active member on the drift forums, and if we are going to have as many judges as Swift is suggesting i think we will need some newer members to help out as well. And he's even willing to help out! :)
 
It is very difficult to nominate people who you havn't a clue about... Is it possible people but up some sort of resume.. lol well just give us an idea of what you have to offer in judgeing. First off i wouldn't want some two bit being a judge and I would prefer a non bias judge too cause some people including myself can not stand certain cars...

This is not a paid position. It's just helping as a judge for the drift video challenges. That's it! So don't make it more then it is.

you have to say what spot you are nominating people for, since there are two categories. Edit you posts and specify if you are putting them up for Head Judge, or Panel Judge

Sorry to hear that AO:(, but I kinda expected that as busy as you are.
 
I'd be happy to return to my position as a panel judge, but the Head Judge is more suited for a well versed drifter.

Ouch, I keep forgetting this. Ryen49 has been a long influential drifter here and I would nominate him as a panel judge (at the minimum). I'm not sure of his time or his computer availability, otherwise I certainly would back him as a Head Judge.

The truth is Der Alta I can not stand you, I see your name an I get annoyed... I am sure Ill be banned but what ever... It isnt like I havn't been before. I am happy you vistited my site and hope you enjoyed my links! :sly: Oh well I guess its time I close my eyes on this neck of the net, I am sure there is better place with out the rif raf like you! thanks.. I haven't been posting alot but i'm always reading the forums. But I gurantee to be posting more now.

Swift because he is committed to making this drift forum a better place and ForcedInduction because he has a massive amount of knowledge about drifting and I saw him grow from GT3 to where he is now. I will understand if he declines this offer because both of us are busy with college stuff [I presume haha]
 
I'll cast my nominations for panel judge later. I have a few names that I have equal faith in right now, so i'll hold my nom until the end incase others intend to nominate the same people.

glad to see ryen up for head judge - that narrows my list down by one

Thio! Actually, i have load of spare time now and i'm coming up with a AWD drift movie :). You are qualified to be head judge because you've actually been one before so why not again?

Tankspanker, new to the forums compared to others but he's mature and knows his stuff.
 
Thank you both ForcedInduction and Small_fryz, but I do not think I am capable of being a head judge this time around, primarily because of my internet connection and my limited time on the internet. I do not want to leave anyone hanging out in the cold when I can't complete a task, so probably next time.

In a couple of months from now, I think I will be able to be a head judge, but now my parents are hacking at me for being a lazy student :irked:

A tip for those who will become judges/head judges:

Once you have been chosen to take this task of being a judge or a head judge, you must, and I mean must take this responsiblity seriously. People have nominated you because they feel like you have the knowledge and the capability to evaluate drifts with objectivity. They trust you to be honest and accountable to be a judge. I remember back in the GT3 days, it was a mess. Some challenges would go on for ages and it would never end. I am sure there are a few that the members can point out, and I sincerely hope that there was something learned from the experience.

In other words: be responsible. I do not want to sound harsh, but that's the only way it will run smooth. Cooperation is key.
