I'm getting an iPad soon, and I was thinking how great it would be if there was an iPad app for GTPlanet! Specifically, an app which lets you search through car setup databases without having to go to the website and go through all the links.

When I'm playing and trying different tunes, it's really annoying having to go back and forth between the TV and my computer, so having an app which will show me all the different tunes on my iPad that have been listed on GTPlanet would be really great!

*thumbs up if you support*

I just saw it and it looks interesting, but it seems to me that the focus of the current app is moreover geared towards just surfing the forums and reading comments.
It's something I would definitely download, however what I have in mind is an app which allows you to directly search a database with car tunes and setups for just about every car.

That would indeed be a great app to have, assuming tunes were nicely organized in a database, which is a feature I've been working slowly working to bring to the site for quite some time.

For now, you'll find the current GTPlanet iPad app a good way to browse and search the forums for tunes that interest you.

Well if I may suggest, why not create a standardized database where people can directly submit their tunes and setups to?
In other words, create a form which asks for the basic information: car name, model, year, parts, settings for selected parts, creator of the tune, type of tune (i.e. drifting, racing, wet conditions, etc.) and any notes at the end and have users submit their tunes which will go directly into the database. Perhaps have them reviewed by a committee before being submitted so as to eliminate spam.
But yeah, this way it's less about fishing through hundreds of threads and posts for different tunes and rather standardizing any new tunes and organizing them for easy access.

👍 I like this idea. :)

Im posting this via my brand new iPad, and the app really does work great! It took me a few min to figure out how to post, but I'm liking how easy it is to browse the forums.
