Welcome everyone to the 3rd GTPRC campaign. @RYAN has back to back series wins in S1 and S2, winning in both Rally2/WRC2 and S1600 machinery.

Title.jpg

Season 3 will see us take to the WRC+ (2017-2021) machinery. With 380bhp, 450nm, 6 speed gearboxes, and massive downforce. These cars are some of the fastest in rally history. Drivers will have the choice of both machines in the category, the Ford Fiesta WRC and the unraced Volkswagen Polo R WRC.
The Fiesta is a solid all round drive, comfortable on any surface and fast with default setups. The Polo has more power but is slightly more unpredictable and edgier, particularly at speed.

6 rounds will take place over 6 weeks, starting Friday 10th May 9.00pm BST.

1. Spain (Tarmac, Winter)
2. Indonesia (Dirt, Summer)
3. Norway (Snow, Winter)
4. New Zealand (Gravel, Autumn)
5. Japan (Tarmac, Spring)
6. Estonia (Gravel, Summer)

Each event will consist of 6 stages, with 2 services in each.

Good luck all.

While I was playing the Tomb Raider remastered trilogy this morning, a EA WRC related PSN trophy popped up:

AT LAST 🏆
Win a round of the GTPlanet Rally Championship

it seems a pretty rare hidden trophy nonetheless :P

Figured I'd give this a go despite not having entered the first two rounds and I am not good with snow stages. Especially with how narrow the roads can be on some of Scandia's stages.

Let's see how fast slow I am.

After my 1st victory I was prepared about how much will it take to me to screw Scandia, since for me it's the second most difficult rally of the game

My inner Murray Walker: AND IT HAPPENED IMMEDIATELY !

Well I'm quite pleased to be 2nd overall so far and currently managed to get a fastest stage time ( stage 6 ) but I do realize the rally has a few days left to go so I'm sure that'll change

Ok run (with little mistakes in the later stages), but my God, this was the toughest Power Stage that @MagpieRacer has ever conceived :scared:Can't see ****, too much water on screen :lol:

Really enjoying my time in these cars, they seem to suit my driving style quite well (presumably because they're fairly forgiving 😂). Had a blast in Scandia considering I'd done no practice...

So I was a little annoyed that I threw it off a cliff in SS2 of NZ. Decided to carry on regardless and just aim to set some decent stage times. Will have to wait till the end of the rally to see if I've managed that haha!

Even though I lost 11 seconds by falling off the road on the final stage, I found it easier to drive in the storm without headlights as it reduced the glare coming back at me

With 2 rounds to go, it's all to play for, @Cabelmania and @Dreadmed fighting for the top spot in the championship. just 3 points separating them.

Japan and the high speed gravel of Estonia still to come.

Japan is a rally that I like.........but I don't "trust"; sometimes it can be hard as Corsica :scared:

The 1st half went good, but at Oninotaira (a stage that I hate) I got stuck 3 times :grumpy: then I had an enormous scare when I hit the guardrail in the almost straight section at Habucho, but got pinball's back to the track thanks to a tree

And then I got a lock up on the power stage which send me straight to a 6 sec. penalty :ill:

I had worse rallies this season, so let's just say that

I was fully committed on this run. I love Estonia and these cars just feel magical when you hook everything up.

That said, after what I felt was a good (for me!) start to the rally I managed to completely mess it up by hitting a tree on SS5...thought it was just a puncture at first but the loss of most of the car's front end made it a complete nightmare to drive on the remaining stage. On SS6 I hit a jump too hard and with the lack of downforce was catapulted into the land of terminal damage.

Gutted. Really felt like I could have had a good result here :ouch:

your move
I don't think it's in much doubt, I was all over the place in Japan when I needed to win there (forgetting about NZ didn't help).

I'm not sure what the maximum score per round is but I strongly suspect you would've had to have a high speed meeting with a tree/haybale for me to have a chance... we'll see!

After an exciting round in Japan which saw @Cabelmania take another victory, Estonia has the stage for the final. @Dreadmed chasing the leader down, can he do it?

Let's see if I can win a rally this time
Little did I know.........

I can't really believe it that I win this season :D Of course part of the reason it happened is because the partecipation was not the same as the previous seasons and most of the big guns didn't partecipate, but still......

I wanna thank @Dreadmed for the exciting battle of the title, probably you would have win it if not for New Zealand ;)

I don't know if I will partecipate in Season 4, but never say never :sly: For now I exit this season as champion, and I exit in the most of respectful manners and not overreacting one bit :)

............

My inner soul right now:

With a final podium in Estonia, @Cabelmania secures the GTPRC Season 3 championship crown! @Dreadmed ran him close in the battle between Fiesta and Polo. 3 victories over the season highlighting excellent consistency in the WRC+ machinery.

Congratulations @Cabelmania Great job.

I haven't played the game at all since I stopped competing in the GTP clubs. I'm starting to miss the game now so I think I'm going to come back just doing the moments stuff first. Then if my hands allow I might compete in the near future in this club. As much as I love the Modern Classics club I know for a fact the elongated rallies will be hard for me to comfortably complete so I'll aim for this one.

Looking forward to seeing what moments have been added since I last played.
