David Roy Presents: The FIA NGT-G3 Championship for GTR2​



To those of you who own a copy of GTR2 and have been known to play a little online:

I cordially invite you to a short season of Saturday "club" races. By club races I mean a friendly environment wherein we can race without the annoyance of wreckers and hot-heads. I will keep a tally on points for those of you who are interested in a little competition and I open the races to North Americans, and Europeans alike. To accomplish this, I would like to schedule events for 18:00 GMT on Saturdays. "Race weekends" will be short, being made up of:

Practice 1 (15 minutes)
Qualifying 2 (10 minutes)
Race

SCHEDULE:

Round 1: Daytona International Speedway 24 Hours (75 Minutes)

Round 2: Laguna Seca GP (30 Minutes)

Round 3: Virginia (30 Minutes)

Round 4: Birmingham Grand Prix (30 Minutes)

Round 5: Watkins Glen Long (40 Minutes)

Round 6: Daytona International Speedway "Short Course" (30 Minutes)

* May have additional one round. *

Round 7: Watkins Glen NASCAR (20 Minutes)

Finale: Road America GP (45 Minutes)

CARS:

All NGT and G3 cars that came with the game are available, plus the BMW M3 GTR. Essentially, that means no add-on cars. Some cars in the game share numbers for whatever reason, same team - different years etc. so I ask that, when selecting your car, choose a car from which the number has not already been selected by another car and driver. Teams will mean nothing in our series, however that doesn't mean every man for himself. If someone needs help I encourage you to lend a hand, as you may be in their position at some point.

First question. Why'd you decide to put Watkins Glen in the schedule twice? How about going to Sebring.
 
I'd love to put Sebring, Mosport, Le Mans, Spa and many others on. However, amongst many problems with the legality of certain tracks I wanted to try and emulate the Grand-Am schedule. That being said, Road America will most likely replace Dubai and if I can confirm a couple of things with Lime Rock, that too will be on the schedule.

UPDATE: Road America has been confirmed on the schedule. Still haven't heard anything about Lime Rock, or the ghost track I've seen online "Lime Rock v1.1". If anyone has information regarding Lime Rock, if you could please fill me in that'd be greatly appreciated.

I'd say the verison of Limerock you've seen is the GTL version. I don't really want to get into converting GTL tracks for this either.

Is the Porsche BiTurbo elegable? I'd like to take it cause it's such a challenge to drive. :p

If not, I'll prolly take the Chamberlain TVR.
 
Right now I'll say no on the Bi-Turbo. I could go do some testing to verify, but I believe it is essentially a GT (GT1) car.

The Chamberlain TVR is yours.

- Test server is up. - No pw as of now, however, come "official" testing sessions and "race weekends" the server will be pw protected. Server is called FIA NGT-G3 Championship.
 
Good enough. The TVR's number is 154.

Now I've got to go figure out which one of my add-ons is getting me booted from servers as being a possible cheat. Hmm...
 
We kicked off the server in style. A one hour endurance race 'round Daytona. This was great practice for what will be our opening round of the championship.

I invite all GTPlaneteers to come to the server on Saturday at the usual 18:00 GMT for a test run at Birmingham. No password yet for the server, however poor sports, wreckers, and hot heads will be removed on site.

For the good of the series, if we get any interest, I will be changing the grid from NGT-G3 to the Speed World Chellenge Mod. We will use version 1.2 on the same circuits. Expect to see a new thread soon.
