If you check for App Store updates on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you'll see the latest version of the GTPlanet iOS app, version 1.4.7, is now available and offers a few minor features and bug fixes. However, it appears to have a serious new bug, crashing whenever you attempt to submit a new post. :scared:

To avoid this problem, skip 1.4.7 and do not update the GTPlanet app just yet. Version 1.4.8 has already been sent to Apple and will go live in the App Store as soon as they approve it. I'll post another update when 1.4.8 is available.

UPDATE: As of writing, version 1.4.9 is now available in the App Store, which fixes the posting bugs found in 1.4.7 and 1.4.8. Please update your version of the app as soon as possible.

What is the change we need to "edit on the forum" for thus and such to function? Something about logging in?

Sorry, I don't understand your question, Dave. What do you mean, exactly?

[Ugh, app crashed my last 2 replies :(]

Jordan look at the update discription you posted in the app stores. There is also a message that show up the first time the app is launched post update.

Because of the crashing, is there any way to roll back the app version?

I don't write the update text you see in the App Store - that's handled by Forum Runner when they upload new versions. I've seen it, though, but still don't understand what you're referring to. Here's the text (which I'm about to update/change right now with a warning message):

* Add support for native registration via the app (requires forum add-on upgrade)
* Remove "Login/Logout" menu. Login now done via buttons on the "Forum" menu, and Logout now done via "Profile" menu

You can roll back to a previous version of the app if you have an older version of it synced to iTunes. Take a look here for more info.

"* Add support for native registration via the app (requires forum add-on upgrade)"

That is the part I was asking about. What is the "forum add-on"?

That's the Forum Runner add-on which powers the server-side of the mobile applications. It just means the forum owner must be running the latest version of the add-on in order for that feature to be supported. Many sites use the Forum Runner platform for their mobile applications, hence the generic update description.

I wish I read this before I updated lol. Anyway I'm glad this site is safari friendly. I still love this app tho!

Version 1.4.8 is available. *Still crashing. Tried twice, even after reboot :( (this post via web)

Yes, it crashes for me as well when posting replies. Unbelievable. Here we go again... 🤬

Wonder what's causing the crash ...

For those who updated and don't have a lower version to roll back to, here is 1.4.5 so you can downgrade.

The issue cropped up when I asked the Forum Runner developer to remove the image attachment functionality from the app (as I don't allow image attachments here and people assumed the app was broken). He did, but apparently broke the posting functionality in the process - twice. :grumpy:

The good news is version 1.4.9 was uploaded this morning, and I've been in touch with Apple who have agreed to "expedite" its approval.

OK, good news: the latest version of the GTPlanet app (version 1.4.9) just went live in the App Store a few minutes ago, and fixes all of the posting issues.

Test post. Thanks in advance!

It works thanks!

So I'm assuming that 1.4.7 and 1.4.8 weren't tested before release?

That was fast, thanks Jordan! Maybe you could offer PSN some tips

Mr Jordan, I cannot find where to check my Friend Requests on this app. Is it only on my computer that I can do this?

Edit: testing emoji ?

Hope this works ?

Looking now ??

Edit 2: emoji shows up as '?' :(

Correct, you can't manage friend requests via the app - this must be done in a web browser.
