GTPlanet iPhone/iPad App Update (Fixed Version Now Available!)

Jordan, for some reason on the iPhone 4 the app crashes randomly, is there a specific reason this happens?
 
iOS apps usually crash at random points due to memory leaks, which are very difficult to trace. I use the app with an iPhone 4, though, and this has only happened once for me with the latest version of GTPlanet's app.

I'm not a tech type person. To be honest, I just found out what emoji is. Would it be possible to add some basic emoji to the app? I know I can type in ':)'. But to select from a list of standards would be handy.

Is this app possible to download without using App Store/Cydia? Neither work in my backwards part of the world but I do have ********* which can download anything, though I can't mention it here due to AUP rules.
 
Liking this brand new update. But 2 things I noticed: the first time I installed it from the App Store by Update All button GTP didn't actually update...and why on earth is there a ban user button on everyone's profile?! :lol: It's not like you're trying to pre-empt everyone's future status at GTP is it Jordan? :lol:

Sorry, there's no way to install the app without access to the App Store.

Yeah, that's a confirmed bug - it should be cleaned up in the next version. :dopey:

Is it possible to add the ability to upload photos to thread posts? With the addition of profile photo galleries, I'd assume we are close?

Not with image attachments disabled on the forums, no.
 
Jordan, can you add a Refresh function by pulling from the bottom up? Not just from the top down.
 
No. Unfortunately, that's no longer part of the Forum Runner platform.
 
I just found out that long posts get cut off in the iPad app. Almost like there is a limit on how long a specific post can be in the app.

If you look at that thread on the regular Internet (like on safari), the first post shows up fine. But if you look at it in the iPad app, the whole bottom half of the first post, starting at "Race Rules" and down. Why is that?
 
It's most likely a technique to preserve memory in the Forum Runner platform on which the app is built - if you tap anywhere in the post body to view the post itself, the entire message will be visible.

Makes sense, but an icon or something saying that there is more to the post would be nice, some sort of indication that what the person is looking at is not the whole post. The only reason why I knew the post was shortened is because I at first saw it on the website originally and I was referencing it for info on the iPad.
 
I am having some trouble with the app and this thread- '600 PP Road Cars Shootout'
It's a GT5 / Tuning thread.

The second post has links to the testers tunes on it but only one shows up. When viewed through the web browser they are all there. Is there a setting I need to change or is it an actual issue with the app?

It looks like an app issue - I'd say there's some bug in parsing all of the formatting he's used for that post. If you tap on the post, you'll be able to see all of the links.

I don't know what parsing is sorry. Thanks for the quick response. I tried what you said and it works beautifully.

Parsing could be described as displaying the post according to the formatting used. So if anything has been marked as being bold or underlined, for example, it'll parse the tags and display the formatting, so to say.

There's a four-character minimum for all search keywords on the forum.
 
Tried this app with both my android phone and itouch, works great. 👍

It is very memory intensive though, hope that can be improved.
