MrktMkr's Random Trading Tip:

Stay neutral when investing.

You are less likely to make a mistake when you are objective in your analysis.

Hah, 5th is almost as good!

This is quite fun actually. I've always wanted to invest in stocks, but I've never really found any excuse to get into it. It all seems so confusing for a simple concept, haha. Love it.

It is. :) Considering I placed 4th, so far. :sly:

💡 Here's an excuse:

If the Bush administration decides to privatize social security, I need to learn how to invest my money in order to maintain financial security for retirement. :sly: :)

:D Me too... :D obviously... :sly:

i searched the symbol finder thing where you type in the company's full name.

ummm.....obviously not. not with steel anyway. you helped me with steel. so thanks. lol.

I think i should be investing in funeral services. I mean, Angelina Jolie just about started one, and there's not going to be any shortage of people dieing in the next 40 years.

First off, that's very morbid... :scared:

Secondly, I'm not sure if there are any publicly-traded funeral services corporations. They are mostly family-owned private businesses.

True...

Food industry it is then!

Event Horizon
I did this because penny stocks are too volitle. They're too risky and in real life, you wouldn't want to risk that much.

Yep, but some of them are goldmines! :grumpy:

Keyword = some.

A majority of them are scams or moneypits (pink sheets / OTC BB).
So-called "listed" stocks that are priced under $5 per share are equally volatile (but not necessarily scams). Believe me, I speak from experience. :(

I know, it's just that some of the stocks I've been watching for a while are in this range right now, with a huge rebound potential... :( anyways, I'll find other options.

Is sending a girlfriend of mine sleeping with a CEO to get some insider info allowed? :dopey:

💡 Actually, there is a loophole to insider trading. If you release the information publicly (i.e. on this forum) its no longer considered insider trading because technically the information is public. 💡

But no, I would rather you didn't use your girlfriend. You should sleep with the CEO. :sly:

I agree -- but her kind of jail is more like a resort. She should go Riker's Island or Sing Sing, where all the real criminals are.

 I'll pass.

Insider info is bad... m'kay?

Don't worry. I know insider info is wrong -- I wouldn't even go so far as to do the last thing I mentioned. I rely solely on published information when I make my investments decisions.

Besides, didn't you see my last post about Martha Stewart? :odd: I wouldn't have said that if I intended to use inside information. :)

The margin bug still has not been fixed yet. :grumpy:

Anway, my [real] total equity right now is $3019.57

I have no idea what you're talking about. There is someone with the name "Deq" that just signed up not too long ago.

Wow .. I'm having a horrible day in my stocks - like downright disgusting.

I'm fairly sure anyone else who has tech stocks other than HP is reeling as well.

I'm down $131. :(.
