Jordan, see if you can convince the JGTC to make a stop at Toronto's Molson Indy in July.

I'd love to go see the JGTC, but it's just too far away for me :( I'd love to see my favourite GT3 cars in action! (Well, except for the Calsonic Skyline, it's been retired :( )

Well as for a few months ago, Keiichi Tsuchiya has officially retired. He is no longer racing in JGTC or any professional event at this moment. He is still doing his Best MOTORing/ Hot Version show and is still racing but he is no longer in JGTC. He used to drive the Arta NSX which just didn't do all that great.

He will no longer race in JGTC, F1, Nascar, and other professional events.

Yes he has race in Nascar, he lost because an American "accidently" knock him off the track. Seeing no chance in getting first place, he decided to drift his Nascar. He is that crazy! :scared:

He have also "drift" in a F1, there was a video clip but I lost it when I reformated my PC :(.

Anyways JGTC is awesome. When will they begin airing highlights on Spike TV? I heard they replace Speed with Spike TV. Which suck ass. Spike TV suck at doing racing coverage.

umm.....laugh.

Sounds extremley well 👍 :)
as the others says this shows a bit about GTPlanet! :sly:
but to bad they didnt make a stop in europe or even better in sweden

anyways I think this is really good news for this community;)

I'll be sure to click the banners whenever I see them, quite cool our humble site was contacted by someone like the JGTC. Go GTP.

Awesome work Jordan. :)

I just wish we got coverage of the AJGTC over here in New Zealand. *Goes away to cry*

www.tvnz.co.nz - Go there and e-mail them to say what they are missing out on!

Race coverage on Spike TV? Why would a Japanese GT race be on a pro-American channel like Spike? Speed, let us have the JGTC coverage! Or at least have Bob Varsha or Leigh Diffey calling down the race!

yeah! the championchip with the most impressive racecars on earth! now they just have to show the races on german tv, please...

With all the different environments in the game to be in the Photo Mode, I said that there is at least one environment that everyone can find as favorites.

When I talked about Tsuchiya Keiichi, note I said "raced" in the series. Past tense. I'm well aware he retired. I knew what I was saying. And last time I checked, Tsuchiya didn't race in NASCAR for what I know. I think it was Hideo Fukuyama who raced in NASCAR. Remember last year or two years ago?

As I said, it's glad America will finally come face-to-face with the JGTC. We'd cordially welcome those crazy Japanese daredevils to America's California Speedway at Fontana. It's a lovely setting there. I know they'll race the road course, but when I seen CART/Champ Car run the Fontana oval, it was truly exciting! NASCAR had nothing on the high-speed battles at Fontana. There's nothing like the California Speedway. I just hope we can get quality, authentic action not bombarded by words and phrases like "trading paint," "wickerbill," "loose/tight/trouble," "cushion/groove," or anything like... oh yeah. Not even what Darrell Waltrip says before a NASCAR race on FOX. The JGTC is not NASCAR, so don't treat it like it is. All I can ask for is quality casting of this race from start to finish. I'm not biased. I just love racing. And once again, welcome to America, JGTC. Enjoy your stay! Maybe I should talk more about this in my JGTC thread.

i wonder when the JGTC cars are comming to australia... that would be a wicked V8 supercar's and JGTC car's at Bathurst.

then they can bring motor bikes back to Bathurst bit of Moto GP on the hill

Someone please educate me.

I was under the impression that GT300 were cars under 300HP, and GT500 were cars under 500HP. However, there are cars in the GT300 group with over 450HP. So what do the designations mean?

So the site isn't that far away from being an ad found on one of the tracks themselves right Jordan. I can see it now, GT10 featuring a GTP banner on turn 3 of any given track.

Awh I can't wait.

I'm not sure how they classify it, i know MOST of the cars in that class have around either 300 or 500 HP but I know there is a ferrari with around 450. I'll ask Dino why, maybee he knows

There was a debate about this in the GT4 forum a while back, apparently the rules don't really lay out HP limits, and the classes are meant to be GT300+ and GT500+.

If you read from here onwards you'll see the discussion.

This is what was found in the rules.

JGTC consists of two classes, GT500 (max. 500hp) and GT300 (max. 300hp). Horsepower is controlled through air restrictors.
Cars eligible for GT500: JAF-GT(class 1), Le Mans* cars and cars specially authorized by the JAF**.
Cars eligible for GT300: JAF-GT(class 2), Le Mans cars and cars specially authorized by the JAF.
* Le Mans cars : Cars classified as GT2 before 1998 or GTS and Le Mans GT after 1999. However, those cars need to meet JAF-GT regulations of 2001.

** Cars specially authorized by the JAF: FIA-GT homologated cars, Grand American GT cars, and DTM cars from the year 2000.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

WOW! Jordan, doing this kind of thing is a very good thing for you to do! :O ooOoo I just can't believe how you can get GTplanet involved with a such a BIG racing event. Getting the ability to help promote the JGTC will make GTplanet more well-known and possibly the best GT site on the NET! :O:O you deserve a hug and a kiss!

*hugs and kiss Jordan's cheek* :O:O:O

i see the "tom's" teams are runng V8's in there supra's and the honda's have two hole turbos now and if you go back to the 2000/2001 one team is running a R33 body not a R34.

Re-Amemiya rx-7 wins the GT300 class

038_039.jpg

what is that???? an mr2? i dunno

and the horsepower issue, the site has the power measured in PS no HP and 100PS is about a 100HP

I've just looked at the standings :)
Denso Sard is on the 1st place in GT500 :D
Where did you read that? It shows the ESSO Supra in first in the GT500 class, and the M-Tec NSX first in the GT300 class.

Don't use that one, it's never updated properly. This one is more accurate. Well, the link doesn't work, but here is the correct points leader.

Hey, its all cool, I was just pointing out that Tsuchiya is no longer racing. I didn't want to make it seem like you don't know what your talking about.

JohnBM01
And last time I checked, Tsuchiya didn't race in NASCAR for what I know. I think it was Hideo Fukuyama who raced in NASCAR. Remember last year or two years ago?

You should check again. ;) Just kidding. He did race for NASCAR. It was when NASCAR went to Japan. Him and some other Japanese Racers raced and I don't believe either of them ever won. But as far as him in NASCAR, he has done it.

1996 Entered NASCAR Thunder Special race at Suzuka
1997 Entered NASCAR Thunder Special race at Suzuka
1998 NASCAR at the California Speedway.

:D

JGTC has already been aired on Speed last year, I believe. And it was great. I am not sure if its going to be aired on Speed or Spike TV but from what I heard from people on different board Spike is going to do coverage on it.

I'll look it up though.

As for the banners, I have yet to see one. Weird.

No, Speed Channel is not airing JGTC races anymore. They did last year, a little bit during this time, but it's not listed at all on their web site.

However, Spike TV is airing JGTC, but it's not the races. Just race, car and team info. It appears as a feature in the show Redline which airs on Saturdays at 8:30 AM PCT.

Thank you Jordan and JGTC!

If they had not advertised here at GTP I would probably not have known in time to make arrangements to go.

See everyone there! WOOHOO! 👍

I'm so happy I'll get to see a JGTC race !
The race is just on the weekend of my arrival in California. It sure is going to be cool to leave the plane from Paris and go a few days after to Fontana.
I was planning to try and see an american cars race (Nascar, midgets, CART or maybe a drag race), but this is more than I was expecting !
Thank you guys here at GTP : if you weren't so friendly, I would have never stayed here lurking unposting...and I would've missed this race !
Maybe a GTP meeting out there would be cool, don't you think ?

/me is going to reserve a couple of tickets for the event
