I think a lot of your votes came from the other thread though. :) I think the vast majority are just going by looks. Titleguy would have more if his was sketched like 787s or modeled like erans...
I too think the majority of votes for my design came from the other thread, but i wasn't talking about myself :)....

As for Titleguys design, it really should have more votes, because it is modeled like erans , eran did a very good model of it (albeit in the other thread), and that is the point i was making... In my opinion both deserve more credit, and for that to be reflected in the poll.

Unfortunately that won't translate, as the members who are voting are probably not checking out the other thread. Some who have voted, have post counts of a few or even zero, which suggests they're probably not that active a member in the GTP community, and are casually being asked to vote on something without there being any clear indication of the process behind the design, or knowledge of the design brief behind the designs...

In hindsight there probably was no need for a separate thread (in my opinion), but it's way too late to change things now.

Mine doesn't have any votes. :( lol

Again. You too probably would have benefited more had the poll been attached to the original thread. 👍
I don't think anyone would read through 30 pages though lol

There's always linking the posts.
Fully aware that there's a link to the post, but i don't feel that is good enough (poorly organised).

It's all too late now, but even that should have been at the top of the post, as opposed to the bottom of the entries.. as i said, for casual voters there's no real explanation, they're just being asked to vote on something without the knowledge of the design brief.

Guys I'm fully aware of the poll problem, the reason I put it as a separate thread is because I can't change the original poll in our projects thread but i fully take the blame if for the lost of votes

Well, none of our designs are complete, they're just ideas so far.

Either we can keep working on 20 different designs, or we can pick one or a few that we want to explore further. The poll could be a guideline but I don't think it should be decisive since the voters aren't designers. Now we know what's popular, so either we can abandon the designs that aren't, or we can change them to try and make them more popular, or we can stick to our designs and try to refine them if we think that we haven't yet explored their full potential.

I think that we should make 3D models of all designs, it will help to see the design in 3D and the model can also be used to make new drawings from. I can volunteer to make the models, I'm still a novice when it comes to 3D modelling but the basic shapes shouldn't be much of a problem. If each designer just thinks their design through and make some sketches that I can use for modelling (side view, top view) then I could probably complete one model per week or so (depending on the level of detail). And don't worry if you're a crappy drawer, just draw what you have in mind and if that isn't enough you can also describe the design in words (abstract or concrete - anything goes).

Then make a program to view all the cars in 3D. :o then have everyone download the .exe o.o

Congratulations @787bcgr, time to develop your concept. Are u able to produce it in CAD format, 2d and a 3d model? Or would you like assistance?

Yes but you did pretty good aswell. :) good job for 2nd. :)
Whoo, yeah, runner-up! I honestly wished there were more people watching this thread, maybe there could've been more votes for everyone, and not a whole ton of 0's.

Hopefully no one thought their designs were all made for nothing, everyone made great efforts on their work (a paper drawing can take as long as a 3d render sometimes, you know!). 👍
