Danger close.

I have come doing a weekends work at my old firm helping out. They have real radio on, :gulp:, playing Christmas songs intermittently, I know its going to happen.

I heard the Live Aid song, heard George and thought that was me whammed. Turned out I'm safe, for now.

Real radio's hell. The very first Christmas song they played was Wham :( it's what got me out. Good luck trying to survive this one. :P Ha

My dad always listens to Real Radio or Radio 2 in the car... it's very rare we all go out in it as a family anymore, and when we do I have my iPod with me, so I should be safe... it's my mum who usually takes me places and she listens to Radio 1, so I'm safe there, hopefully!

OK, been at my wife's work Xmas kids party for over 2 hours now and have only just realised what jeopardy I'm in! Chris Rea singing his lame Driving Home for Christmas had just jolted my Wham! senses into overload...

Wow, Step-Mum put Christmas music on the TV so I'm upstairs now.

Just came up with a master plan. Download a Christmas album. Put that on my memory stick and delete the Wham. Then all day they'll be using that. Therefore I should be clear through the 20-25 days. Hopefully. :dopey:

It does seem a bit ridiculous, unless you didn't shell out for iPod connectivity. Then it's understandable to listen to the radio instead, even with the terrible consequences at this time of year. If your not driving, you should take precautions and stick the headphones in!

Perhaps not all of us are fancy enough for an iPod port. My 53 plate doesn't have an iPod port! :scared:

I drive a 1999 Honda Civic. V reg.

My CD player has an mp3 jack, not an in-built iPod connector. 3.5mm to 3.5mm is all I use, and it'll work with any mp3 player.

Like I said, if you can't use that, just don't listen to the radio. It's not impossible to drive without sound coming out of the speakers.

Failing that, listen to Radio Four. Comedy, classical music and high brow news. What more do you want? They won't play Wham! on there.

Well, I survived. I'm not entirely sure how, if real radio did play it today then I must have been on one of my breaks.

I'm back in at 6 am tomorrow. I'm there till 4.

Wish me luck.

I guess Ford weren't as trendy in 2003 as Honda were in 1999. No MP3 jack or anything of the sort. Just a CD player, and we don't have any decent CDs anymore. We did used to have a Kenwood head unit, but even that didn't have an MP3 jack. The only way we'd get to plug an iPod in is if we bought a new head unit, but I can't see that happening soon. Guess I better take a trip to HMV!

No less than a couple of minutes ago, I thought I was in for it. There I was, in the kitchen, sanding away at my Hot Wheels, trying to get the paint off to re-spray it. BBC Radio 1 was playing loud in the living room, Reggie Yates was counting down this week's Top 40. Then suddenly, he mentions Christmas songs. I stop. I listen more, and he begins to say how Christmas songs were already in the charts. My heart turned into McKayla Maroney and did the vault. I put the dremel on the table and sprinted into the living room. What was he going to play? Would it be George of the Michael? Would it be something else? Should I take the gamble? Wait for him to say what it is? What if he played it before he said the song? I stood there in the living room, staring at the TV, sweat trickling down my face as I pondered. Okay, well, maybe it wasn't that dramatic. But I was still stood there. I picked up the TV remote from the sofa, and turned the volume all the way down, before sprinting up the stairs and checking the Radio 1 website to see which song it was....

....turns out it was only Mariah Carey.

Didn't realise you had a list. I'll submit my name to it. No Whamming yet for me. :)

So i posted on friday saying that today will be the big test for me as we put the tree and decs up and we have the music channels on....well im pleased to say..I PASSED!!!..we had a few channels of xmas music on for around 45 mins and not one of them played wham! hahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!:lol::lol:

30/11/12 - dchPSUone - Willingly Whammed over 5 times. Something's wrong with you :P

I enjoy Christmas music in general, so if Wham is the price I have to pay to hear it then so be it haha.

Also, for the record, I submit that this song is far worse:

I don't care what that song is, there is no way I am clicking that link. Lol.

Went on another day trip yesterday; must've heard every Christmas song imaginable - but, again, not Wham!

I'm starting to get over-confident... :D

.... And it's bit me on the rear :D

There was one channel playing a Christmas Top 50; and Mr.Cocky here put it on.
Big Mistake!!

#I gave you my heart!#

How embarrassing
Especially considering it was the last part of the song. :P

I'm watching the last part of a peogranme of the nations Favourite singles.
It's the #1 next....Double Whammy incoming(?)....

Update: No it was the Bohemian Rhapsody:D
Phew! Some consolation :P

Still in! So far I've not heard many Christmas songs. Unfortunately my bus driver occasionally listens to he radio, and I'll be unable to escape... :scared:

I got extremely lucky. I was at a store called "Christmas Tree Shops" to return something. While I was waiting I heard words that sounded like Last Christmas but I found out it was not the original version. I will avoid that store at all costs now.

Happened to have lived through this so far - haven't heard a single Christmas song besides the Mannheim Steamroller CD we always play at this time of year... Got the girlfriend involved on this too, and she's basically doing the same thing I am - sitting in the basement with the shades drawn and lights off.

If I do have to go anywhere, I've got my earbuds in all the time now. I admit, I am 100% paranoid over this.

I haven't heard any Christmas songs so far either. I'm also in a feud with gogatrs and I can't trust him. We tried playing Battlefield and I thought he was gonna Wham me. Although he thought I was gonna Wham him as well.

I guess this is the first stalemate we've had on GTP so far :sly:

I'm going to a party today. Should be fun to see what choice of music is played. :scared:

The fact that Wham! might be playing at a party is reason enough to avoid it anyway!

BTW, I survived the weekend kids party but today I'm hitting the indoor market for some Crimbo shopping...

Still haven't been Whammed yet. Not been into town for a while where songs will likely be on in shops, and I'm keeping well away from TV music channels...

I'm going to the city today... I guess I'll have to use some earplugs, so I'll avoid any music, than my own...
