GTPlant App from Apple

Can there be a app update for gtplanet because when there's a lot of text on 1 page and I scroll down fast, it just crashes. It's a pain

Which forum thread does this occur for you on? What type and generation of Apple device are you using?

Is there a particular thread which this always occurs when you try to view it?

This generally happens in threads with really long lists, such as the GT5 Car list or the BUL. It's been like this ever since I can remember. If you still need to see it, just click on the thread title at the top of the thread and it will take you to the desktop version of the site.

It always crashes for me when I try to go to page 1 of a thread with a large OP, such as this one: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=264626

However, I always blamed my iPod's (4th gen, bought a year ago) lack of RAM than the actual app itself. On my new Android phone, I could get to the OP of the above thread with no problems.

I'm experiencing this on the Our Replica threads first page. I'm using a new iPhone 4S as well.

Any chance the android app will get a fix any time?
Issues like links to forum threads opening in a browser within the app, not the app itself.
Clicking links won't open them with their respective apps. Youtube links don't open youtube.
Even down to not being able to close the app with the back button from the first page which the gtplanet app displays.
I would also like to be able to zoom in on attached pictures.

No, it doesn't look like it.

Development on the Forum Runner platform, on which both of the apps are built, has stagnated. They don't address my suggestions or feedback, and I don't have access to the source code itself. My contract with them is up at the end of the month and I won't be renewing it.

Hi Jordan, rather than starting a new thread I thought I would just add to this one.


There is an issue when using the app in landscape mode on the iPad where the button I click to reply to topics or swipe to delete, etc. don't work. The app still works fine in non-landscape mode (I use landscape mode pretty exclusively) but anything on the right hand edge of the screen in landscape mode is un-clickable.

Maybe it is iOS6 related?

Admittedly I didn't do a search which I would have done I the past, thanks.

I have had to reset the app 4 times so far as it cant handle rotation changes let alone starting in landscape mode
Using a profile view when one should be able to use landscape is broken...

I'll have a formal announcement about that in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, it appears they will not be providing any more updates to the platform before my contract expires. But don't be concerned; easy and efficient mobile access to the site is a major priority for me.

Good to see you care about it. I'd happily use a website format for a few weeks if I knew there was a new mobile version coming.
