. I do agree that the Audi R8, at current settings, seems faster than the Pescarolos.

In single lap pace, the R8 should be quicker as both the Pescarolos have far better tire wear (for some reason tho i couldn't get anymore laps out of them at GVS).

I've just done some more testing at Midfield and reckon the current numbers are correct so we'll go ahead with the start of the season. For those interested, the Pescarolo went 2 laps further on its tires but was 0.6 of a second slower on its fastest lap compared to the Audi.

I'll begin the new season tomorrow morning (tuesday) to give an opportunity for anyone who wishes to change cars.

4 days and counting no clean runs...the closest I have come were 19 laps completed and then the AI cars are gunning for me...

I am ready to move on to the "real" races, spent close to 3 hours on Sunday trying to get a clean run but kept messing up...

Hmmm, I think what we are seeing here is that having good tyre wear is a bigger advantage than raw speed is in the race than poeple might think.

As for the race, I was confident I was going to place well, but I honestly expected one of the Judd drivers to take the win. I had to drive around a second a lap slower than I normally would (I call it driving in "Tyre Saving Mode" ) throughout the race just to get the Courage to go as long on its Medium tyres as the Judd can (the Courage can go around 5 and a half laps with its Mediums here at GV compared to the Judds 6 laps). So to win the race, and win by the margin I did, came as quite a surprise

I did a Qualifying run with the Audi a couple days ago just to see if it was infact faster than the Pescarolos and I did a time of 1.26.7xx with it (7 tenths faster than the Courages Pole Position time), so yes, the Audi (and probably a few other cars aswell) is definately a faster car than either of the Pescarolos are over a single lap 👍

Tire wear's not that great of an advantage if the power's balanced right. Austin's Ford GT needed two more pits than my Viper, but its laps, and therefore overall time, were still significantly quicker. I'm interested in how our cars handle the rest of the tracks. Some tight competition would be fun.

Im afraid Austin's time is down to him having stunning pace - i ran a 1'37.7xx with the Camaro when checking its numbers which ballance it with raz's Ford GT, Kingofweasles' Zonda and puts it 0.7 quicker than the better tire wearing Viper (quali setup).
