Welcome to the GTPLMS

Round 1:
Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Seattle

Round 1
Track: Seattle Forward - 2.73miles (4.39km)
Deadline: October 25 @ 9p CST (GMT -6)

Welcome racers to beautiful Seattle, home today to the inaugural round of GTPLMS.
A good field has turned out to commemorate the first race in what hopes to be a great season of LMS competition.

Pre-season testing saw that in P1 the BMW is a force to be reckoned with, while P2 had InterSport's 'Rolo looking back at the BMW's of Lowes Motorsports
In the GT categories, GTS is shaping up to be a 3-team battle, with DrewpyBalls Comedy Team in their McLaren F1GTRs battling OldMan Racing's C5Rs and a surprising Independant Dodge Viper from Visteon
GT is the largest field, and is wide open. Preseason saw 6 cars w/in 10 seconds of each other. This is definately the category to watch.

Entry list is shown below.

Gentlemen, start your engines. Lets go racing.

Very Cool!

And a fantastic presentation, if I may suck up to the boss!:sly:

Let's boogaloo till we puke!

Neil

Indeed... :odd: Moving right along, I'm going to have to suck up too. I think I'll be competing in round one. Looks great... real good brother.

m.piedgros

I take it you have never seen the film 'Good Morning Vietnam'?
:)
There IS a reason we are called the 'DrewpyBalls Comedy Racing Team'

Neil

Thanks all for the kind words (::cough:: sucking up). I finally figured out how to use these forum tags. special thanks to Flat-out and eatsvipers4lunch for their stellar examples.

If you will ignore the cursing?.............Bugger B-spec Bob!

Let's race for real!

Neil

👍 Well, the kudo's are well deserved
my sucking up is not wanting to hurt people :sly:

Neil, I got the "droopyballs" as soon as I saw it

As for 🤬 Bob.... it's only 32 laps !.... nothing compared to a JGTC race, well, ok, close to one... but it'll be under an hour.

Knowing Neil, he's already doing the figuring on when to pit, hmmm 8 laps ain't it bro ?....

Speaking of racing..... time to go burn some motor oil :)

J.R.

It would look really stupid now if I sucked up and proclaimed what a wonderful and comprehensive race presentation by one of our esteemed leaders, so I won't do it. But it is!!!

Time to start tire testing...whoopie... the start of a new series!!!!

Maybe 7 on softs on 95%, or 98% for 10 laps on mediums????????......not sure yet!

We will see............Never underestimate the pow'er of the dark side!

Neil

Ok Racefan .. lets leave 'ballstothewall' .. ballshangingonthewall in Seattle

No need to suck up to the race directors here .. we'll do our talking on the track .. { hope i'm not talking too soon though }

Looking forward to this .. whatever happens on the track .. good luck everyone .. see you all on the grid

I love Seattle Circuit. I can get around there so good. I'm especially good in GT cars around this course but I'll be polishing my prototype skills for that course. I'm ready to race. I wonder if my teammate is though:sick:

I have a question regarding submitting Race times.

What if you finish the race a lap behind the winning car? Should that be noted in submitting the time for the race? Methinks this'll likely happen for the GT drivers.

How?:scared:

Even at +10 the AI are a)Predictable b) Very stupid and c)easily draftable on the straights.

You should finish at least 1 lap infront of the 2nd car and 2 laps up on most of the rest of the field.

Just food for thought!:trouble:

Neil

Well, he's right about being able to finish before the AI 👍
Akin to the JGTC, where we were able to pick what level we ran at, I always ran at +10 and finished every race ahead of the AI...... and I'm slow ! So you shouldn't have any problems.

My venture into B spec racing :grumpy:
let's just say I'm not overjoyed. I understand that it's within the "spirit" of the series. As per usual, I'll be giving it my all. ... just hope my partner understands I've never, ever, even tried B-spec. The people I'm staying with have been told that there will be huge outburst of foul language being shouted through the house, and not to cowl in fear :sly:

After taking a few laps around Seattle in an attempt to run some qualifying laps I've found this squirrel I'm in can be a bit of a handfull

speaking of which..... off to the cockpit and spending a little while trying to get a feel for this car and track.

J.R.

OK, got a no-penalty clean full race done in the Mac!
Finished in 1st place, by 1'15 and had lapped all except the 2nd place car.
AI set to +10
Getting 7 laps out of hard rears, but the Mac just EATS rears for fun, so it's not too bad.
4 laps for Bob (numbskull that he is)

Not done any quali laps yet, as I wanted to get a banker race in, in, the harder car before having some fun!

Neil

After the initial run at El Capitan, I thought what other course could be as troublesome as far as going airborn and curbs that are as high as me most nights, and the only track I could think of was.....yes..Seattle!! We obviously have a sadistic kabal of leaders here:)

yeah, so much for a smooth track
at times it's like driving a pogo stick
Haven't tried a race yet, was busy doing a DTM, but it's up as soon as I fold some laundry :grumpy:

I'll be running the whole season at +10
Bringing the lead pipe with me.... keeps Bob in line :sly:

Good old Bob runs about 4 seconds a lap slower then I run, he's a sorry sort! I'm running the Bob from the Uber save.

Yeah, sorry guys, but Seattle is my LEAST favorite track (discounting dirt & ice), but I didn't make the schedule. The next few races will be better suited to LMS cars.
To andy, Neil, and JR, you all drive GT cars, just for a challenge, try taking a P1 car out in seattle...pogo stick indeed. :))

Sorry, I'm not that brave!! No, I really don't care what track we run, we've all got the same conditions to contend with. I've been in series where drivers would complain that such and such a track is not suited for for the class of car driven. Well in real life I'm sure that's true, but few of us driving GT4 have to worry about hurting ourselfs or our cars...well maybe oldphart :)

Provided I do not rear end a car or hit the wall hard enough. Those penalties can be murder on your performance.:yuck: At least I'll give the race a try at least once a day when I'm at home and I can send in my best performance to see how it ranks.;)

Thanks. I'll do my best.:)

I've done B-spec with some of the endurance races in the past on GT Mode and I think it does a good job compared to how I do. I just have to be somewhat active in giving the instructions to B-Spec Bob when he leaves the pits to close to when he has to re-enters.;)

After taking a few laps around Seattle in an attempt to run some qualifying laps I've found this squirrel I'm in can be a bit of a handfull
Same can be said for, well, most any car!:D

speaking of which..... off to the cockpit and spending a little while trying to get a feel for this car and track.
Going OT, I'm curious. How is your cockpit set up? All I got to drive my car is a DualShock 2. :dunce: But I'm going to ask for a DFP for Christmas or my next birthday.

:eek:Where's a jaw-drop smilie when I need it? :O Congrats Balls. I'm betting you got a class winner there!
Getting 7 laps out of hard rears, but the Mac just EATS rears for fun, so it's not too bad.
W/my DS2 driving style, I can get 8 laps on medium rears for my Camaro. Methinks the hard tires are a bit risky for this tough street course IMO given what I'm up against.

 to those that would drive a P 1 around Seattle... I may take one out just for S & G's

👍 Absolutely right there Moe :) there are those that bitch and moan about tracks... I just whine  and I agree Andy, we all have to deal with the same aspects of the track. I've noticed a little different tyre wear on this track and it has me thinking of trying something different.

And yes, I've hurt myself falling out of my cockpit ! I blamed it on the amount of grape I had at the time :sly: that and the head rushes I get sometimes from coming around a corner at say 180 or so and hitting a divider :ouch: I'm just glad I haven't had to pay the repair bills like I did when I was racing in RL :)

Mr. Supuko ... aka... Camkazie ... I won't get into the details in the differences between the two, as my wine glass is empty :grumpy:
I have a "playseat" cockpit. It's ok. I've repadded the seat and made some minor "custom" adjustments. I've been looking at other ones, but the $ is a bit of a reach right now. The DFP and the playseat work well, until you fall on the floor !... lol

Being stubborn and thick headed ... ?... yes, me :sly: I'm running at +10 and the forced pit.... old habits die hard... that's why I never shake it more than 3 times.... my heart couldn't take it

I forgot if we can post t times for qual ? .... just wondering how far behind I am with the rest of you. .... ran mostly DTM today. Tried to get a feel for how hard/far I can push a set of tyres.... be interesting to see who Larry - Neil - is getting out the skins....

off to prep dinner for the house

I've done it in P1. first time I did it, I was like:scared: now I'm like:sly:

Not sure if anyones interested { i'm just a noob here } .. but i'll tell you anway .. have always enjoyed Seattle .. except for the dumb assed 'bump' on the back part of the circuit .

I'm going to race the Chevy and Nissan 1st .. and have a number of options with the tyres { as with the Audi and BMW } .. spending the next 2 nights working out the best tyre combo for each car .. spending the weekend with the 'wife' { GT4 is forbiden } and setting my times on Monday / Tuesday nights ... so i'm way behind the oldphart .

Of course Del would like to be on the podium for each class .. but realistically theres only room for 3 .. and even if he's down the bottom at the finish line .. he's still enjoyed the time taken in preparation and the actual race ...
