Fuji90s.jpg

Round 2
Track: Fuji '90's - 2.7miles (4.36km)
Deadline: November 2 @ 5p CST (GMT -6)

Fuji Speedway plays host to the second round of the GTPLMS. This course is blindingly fast with punishing corners and tight hairpins. The LMP cars will love the fast corners, while the GT cars will stretch their legs on the 1.3km front straight.

LMP1 had the BMW of ICallShotgun taking the pole, but it was the Dell Audi's going 1-2, with Delfino taking the win.
LMP2 saw more of the same with ICallShotgun put in a pole-winning lap, but Delfino and teammate racefan88501 in the Lowes BMW's beating the independant Intersport of 'Gun.
GTS was a very hotly contested class, with winner Drew22 edging runner-up Delfino by less than 1 second.
And in GT, the crafty veteran oldphart put in a blistering qualifying effort, but it was the team of Drew22 and ballstothewall in their DarkDog Mazda RX7's that took the top two spots.

That is Grand Touring 2, not Prototype 1. :sly:

Though Delfino is a little surprised with the results in Seattle .. he's ecstatic considering the time and effort put into testing / selecting the best possible tyre / pit strategy .. Expected the Audi and the BMW to do well , but the Chevy Corvette performed above his expectations and hopes it continues a regular visit to the podium .

The Mt Fuji Grand Prix will be a different story though .. Del has never raced here before .. and thus will have to spend many laps learning the track , even though its a fairly simple layout .. looking forward to a nice smooth surface too :)

Del was seen arriving early at Mt Fuji .. after a stop-over flight via Sydney Australia .. and expects to start testing here early to-morrow morning .
His team buddy ; RaceFan will be joining him in the afternoon .

Hmmm .. ' forced pit entry ' ..

Be glad to get this course out of the way, I hate it,too flat and blind!!

This is by far the best itteration of this course buddy!
Very easy to learn, and it has a nice flow to it. Also it's no-where near as blind as the 2005 version, So don't worry! 👍 👍 👍

Delfino, mate!
Congrat's on results from Seattle.👍

But I'm getting slightly worried by your refering to yourself in the third-person all the time!  :)

Neil

Yeah I was gonna mention that third person thing also, it's a bit scarry:)

PS, on a side note, I'm looking for a trackmap to Midfield and Autumn Ring. I would GREATLY appreciate it if someone could PM me a pic of either of these track maps.

Otherwise, I'm glad you all are having a good time. I didn't know what it took to run a series like this, but it's definately worth it.

Drew - This course is a piece of cake. You don't like this one? Just wait till Petit Le Mans toward the end of the season! THAT version of Fuji is brutal. Your partner is right, it's a fun course, very easy to learn (braking points are the hardest), and fast, Fast, FAST. (can you tell it's one of my favs).

Delfino - WOW, driving in 4 classes, 4 podiums. I am impressed.

Overall, great turnout for round 1. I'd like to have seen some more entries into P1 and P2, but thank you all for participating.

Yeah, this is not as bad a track as I first thought, this version anyways.

I've got the maps you need from the GT4 official game guide. I'll scan and get them to ya.....may not be today but I'll try.

Here are the track-maps for Midfield and Autumn Ring that I have.

I can E-mail them to you too if you likes Chris!
Maybe I should do that as imageshack is running like a bag o sh** at the minute and some of the hot-links ain't working!
Neil

Thanks Shotgun .. lets see if i can keep it up .. i think alot depends on each racers favourite circuits . Racing 4 classes takes a long time , but the time spent on track has its dividends too . { lucky i can spend 1-2 hours a day , 5 days a week : racing }

Speaking of which .. Mt Fuji .. did about 50 odd laps last night .. and agreed ;the first ten laps here gets your back up , but like Balls says .. it's a much preferred location than the '05 version ... and once you get used to Mt Fuji it does have a nice flow to it .. every track holds a secret or two .. havent learnt this ones yet .

Third person ? :) .. hope your all getting :scared:

Delfino completed 55 laps in practise at Mt Fuji on thursday and is eager excited and looking forward to the challenge on race day .

Del was heard mumbling afterwards .. ''the Audi is a blast to drive here .. starts to drift a little after 5 laps .. theres only one option { tyre choice } for the BMW and NISSAN two options for the CHEVY .. but a few for the Audi''

Great series great vision from the race directors  great racing .. lets hope theres more starters in Japan ..

You're quick Neil, by the time I got the guide book and scanned the tracks you already had it done. Well I know how my scanner works now.

I would have been quicker if the shack was working ok!

But hey, at least you have now disproved the common axium that 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' ;)

Hope I don't have to look forward to e-mails with scans of your backside attatched! :scared:
(are there singularities at the centre of grey holes, by the way?)

Jonvan Automotive Group Team News:

After missing out on what looked to be an exciting round one, the JAG squad will be in action at Mt. Fuji. "Well, the rigs hauling [the Jonvan Automotive Group Cars] arrived in Japan today so we know we'll have at least one car out there on race day." team press relations officer Wanda Gofast wrote in a press release Thursday, "I was able to get in the car and get out on a circuit other than a test track, which was nice," Jones said, "the car seems to be very attentive. It's a point and shoot deal. The car will basically follow every order you give it, even if you're pushing it beyond the limits of adhesion. It's quite fun" Jones smirked.

I got on the track, as you can tell from above, but it wasn't limited to the P2 car. The Ford in GT2 seems pretty comfortable at the circuit as well. I have to get comfortable with braking points and I'm still trying to find the limit on a couple corners, but I do expect to compete for a win!

Now I must leave fantasy land and do some homework.

Maybe I'll be able to get some practice on this one, football ends tommorow :)
Did some testing today, there is alot of time to be found on this course. The good laps are really good, but the bad laps aren't that bad, so this should be a close one.

/\/\haha, nice fordfan. Maybe we should have a press release/media thread too.

I just got through Practicing it. its a nice flowing course, which is good for keeping up your momentum. My laps are looking good so I should be a lot stronger here.

Due to a lack of funds, the Playstation Pescarolo was unable to make the trip to Seattle from Australia for round one, however the team is ready to race in Fuji this week and is hoping for a good finish.

Hey,Shotgun,no Bob-participating this time?
To be honest to you all,I won't miss Bob.:sly:
Last time he didn't make any trouble except that he was so slow that my grandma would be able to overtake him in her rockin chair...:indiff:

There's a big secret to keep you out Laz :) How ya been man, haven't seen much of ya since the end of JGTC, S2?

To answer your question, I don't know, I sort of remember seeing a calander, maybe Chris (Shotgun) can steer you to it.

Be glad to get this course out of the way, I hate it,too flat and blind!!

What kind of idiot doesn't like this track...ohh..sorry! Love this track, I had pictured the newer confusing one. It's great on tires, but the fastest times are gonna be from whoever exits the corners the fastest, that's the key to this course...break early and fly out. You high powered guys should have some fantastic times, I may just take one of your rides out and see. I just seem to do best with JGTC type cars 300 -500 HP. Must be my advanced age, can't react like I could with that good ol horse and carriage.

*****New Driver entering the P1 Ranks.*****
Driver Earth will be driving the #6 Microsoft Pescarolo PS2 C60 in P1 starting at Mt. Fuji. Welcome the new driver GTPLMS Competition all.

All classes now have at least 6 drivers, a GREAT field. thanks all.

Here comes a New Challenger! :D Best of luck to you Earth. ;)

Qualifying done. Can't shave off more from this lap.
This track is very cool,as hard as simple.Need to drive very concentrated,I think it's easy to leave 0.5-1 sec/lap.I don't agree with PitwrkzZ1 about the "good laps are really good, but the bad laps aren't that bad" - thing.
I found the tyre wear interesting: blue tires begin to turn into green and then yellow in one lap, then the wearing seems to stop until 3 whole laps and then begins to turn again: tires turn into red in relatively short period.
So you can find out that I execute the RS's in 5 laps.Seems too short to me.
I don't know is this the Mazda or is it me...:odd:
Is there anybody in the same situation?

Yes GTX .. tyre wear is different for all four cars i'm driving here { so i'm using assorted tyre combos } .. and the Audi is the most confusing of them all . Not noticing the tyre wear as you are though ..

Welcome to the grid Earth .

Sorry guys, i can't agree with you.
I've only had time so far to do GT and GTS, but I can get almost 7 (ALMOST) laps out of RS tires all around on the BMW and the Viper. Not sure if anyone else is willing to divulge info, but I will tell you that RM/RM tires and a 1-stop strategy for both GT and GTS have gotten me the best times. Tried about 4 different strategies each (I think i've logged 250 laps so far, w/ P1 and P2 to go) and this seemed to work the best.

Good luck

Hey,250 laps?That's what I call ATTITUDE...Mad...:scared:
Tried to use the RS's for 6 laps and longer, but the 6-lap stint was the WONDER itself...Well,I don't really care.I need to put my best effort and that's all.👍
Keep trying.

For my part, I was thinking a 1-stop race would give me the best shot at a fast time. The RS tires on the rear of my Camaro get to orange after about 9 laps so I think a tire change at that time will give me a set that'll last me for the rest of the race. ;)

ah, new competition. welcome earth. here's to a very close race:cheers:

Hello everyone. Thank you for the warm welcomes

I'm going to try and get the DFP setup tonight and get the Fuji race in. I am quite familiar with this track in a LMP1 car as I ran a 1000km spot race here at Fuji in a C60 not too long ago.

I'm glad to be aboard. I love Lemans type cars and I'm more then happy to participate in any Lemans series.
