GTR SpecV '09 specs

Hey all!!

Thanks to everyone that is using my setup for this car.
I would have to say its a real B**ch to tune but i
have a new setup that i want folks to try.
After hours of test runs i believe ive come up with
some settings much better than the ones in my last post.
Just a couple things....

1) ive found that "not" transfering the majority of the torque
to the rear of this thing solves alot of issues. 40/60 is ideal
because i found that the front wheels actually work to "pull"
the car into the inside.

2) setting the LSD properly is crucial.

ok so enough babbling, here they are......

Aero 7 why?.... downforce in the rear causes understeer

Trans 242 top speed

LSD:
Initial 10/10
Accel 30/20
Braking 15/55

Torque Diff 40/60

Suspension:
Ride height -15/-10
Springs 13.5/14.5 why stiffer in the rear?.....it may sound funny but if you read the manual in the suspension section it says stiffer rear generates oversteer.....i thought they were kidding but apparently not...lolzzz!!!
Dampers(Ext) 6/6
Dampers(Comp) 5/5
Sway bars 2/2
Camber 2.0/0.5
Toe -0.10/-0.35

Brake Balance 4/6

There it is. Have fun. let me know how it goes. and feel free to make
your own tweaks to this.

awesome, like a different motor:)
i found it was inclined to step out a little too much under braking so i've set:

LSD:
Initial 10/10
Accel 30/20
Braking 15/45

Brake Balance 8/4

this is a very unusable tune

it keeps the front tires "hot" for the entire race like they are just dragging along the pavement

i do not recommend this to anyone

I've been running mine with soft slicks up front and medium rears, this gives you a really controllable slide into the corners under braking, once at the right angle to take the corner, come off the brakes and accelerate. unconventional but seems to be effective for me to cancel the under steer

Toe -0.10/-0.35

This negative Toe setting gets you into the corner, does it stick when turning in? I have a theory...

Negative Toe means the wheels are pointing out.
Lets assume the car is making a left hand turn.
negative toe at turn in point will get the car turned in...however, once in the corner the weight is transfered to the outside right tire. This is the tire doing the majority of the work. That being said this setting technically will promote understeer.

I haven't tried the setting, so I apologize if I offend. Try an opposite +0.05 toe in setting. should hug the corner better with a little bit more speed.

Hey all!!

Toe -0.10/-0.35

Why would you want the front wheels pointing outwards? When turning, and the load is on the outside front wheel, it's going to be pushing further out i.e. understeering with negative toe. You need positive toe for tighter turning.

Or have I got that theory wrong?

Hey guys, check this out.
I spend a couple of days testing and came up with a realy nice seting for my SpecV
Try it and tell me what u think.

Aero kit R22
Weight balance 43kg position 50
Transmition Top Speed 330
Standart Differncial
Torque Split 25/75
Ride Height -17/0
Spring rate 15/9.1
Damper 6/6
Damper 8/8
Anti roll bars 7/7
Camber -2.5/1.3
Toe -0.1/0.2

The thread's a couple years old, but props for not making a new one. I'll boot up gt5 and give it a go. That's fully upgraded correct?

Also, you should put kph behind that "330"...ocd senses are tingling lol

Okay, I did 2 laps at Nurburgring GP/F with each set of tuning. Transmission was changed to fully customizable and left as-is. Brake balance is 6/4 and ABS 1
Stock: 1:59.244
Kalata: 1:58.598
JTQtune: 1:58.244 (quick tune) 1:56.915 (tweaked)

Stock I noticed the understeer, although as long as a corner was entered at proper speeds I could keep a decent speed all the way through. It really excelled at low speed turning and corner exit. Mid-speed cornering was more prone to understeer until exit when it pulled back inline.

Kalata: A much better setup, except at low speed turns (last corner stands out) I had to get back on the throttle later. High speed right hander I had to let off and maintain speed instead of blasting straight through.

JTQtune: It fits me better.

yes, this does work, works much better than your previous one,
thanks :)

For GTRs or any skyline. You want to have positive in the back and neg in the front. The positive in the back kills the under steer and helps it to turn.

Trust I use a gtr black mask for 550 pp races on the nurb

The fastest I got around was 6:36 so far with tire wear off and grip on real

its a 4wd... it's gonna under-steer lol
nature of the beast is all there is to it
I just bought this car, with tuning this car is great on nurb, people have to take the time and tune their cars, all GT5 cars are bad right out of the box,I have the Black Mask Nissan car is a beast

Well I dunno, I've been using this setup that Ununpentium posted in the other Spec V thread here and it corners like a beast:

Aerodynamics: R 15
Transmission: Top Speed 242
LSD: Initial F 10 R 10
Accel F 10 R 30
Braking F 10 R 40
Torqur Diff: F 15 R 85
Suspension: Ride Height F -16 R -13
Springs F 13.8 R 11.5
Damp(Ext) F 4 R 5
Damp(Comp) F 4 R 7
Sway Bars F 3 R 2
Camber F 1.4 R 1.3
Toe F 0.00 R 0.00
Brake Balance F 4 R 7

again, this is by ununpentium
I want to say I appreciate people that take the time to trial and error this stuff and give their results to the masses, thnx you guys are lifesavers.
