GTR2 Hot Lap Competition, Anyone interested?

I'm game for any type of series race, but I'm especially up for an F1 race series. 👍

Would tuning be allowed?

Hmmm, assuming I can find a mod without having to join a site, I'd defiantely consider that. As far as tuning goes, I think I could have it limited to the Springs, suspension, Rebound, Tire Pressure and other things. The four settings I've given(for the moment at least) would have to be run as they are.

Just lapped Fuji in 1:34.984. :grumpy:

That first corner is messing me up!

If the deadline is this sunday, I might as well submit the Fuji time I set earlier today as I'm not sure if I'll get another chance to sit on the game before the window closes.

1'32.541

I had a rear right lock-up into turn 1 and a major braking overshoot going into the chicane, so would have liked another shot as I think I could be at least a tenth or more up, but we'll see how this weekend pans out. I haven't even attempted Indy with the ARTA NSX yet, so I guess that'll probably take priority if I get any time.

Edit: About future competitions, I'd say what you suggest sounds good to me. To be honest, the only reason I really jumped on this was because of the SGT mod, but I guess I'd be open to others.

OK, so i got the car mod working after I figured out I was not linking the files together when I was extracting them. It all works great now.
So I did just a few laps at both tracks and boy the Acura is a slippery SOB.
I've attached an excel file I use to track all the stats I do in different mods for your convenience.
New cars will add just fine, you'll just have to tell the excel macro that it's a GT car when it asks.
Tracks will be added to the "tracksinfo" tab but you'll have to open up the .gdb file in the track location folder and get the track length from there and plug it into the "traksinfo" tab manually. Anyway I hope you find it useful, if not then just a bit entertaining after racking up thousands of laps.

Indy: 5 laps, 1:26,668
Fuji: 5 laps, 1:34,531

I'll put some more laps in tomorrow night.

I also have in mind for future competitions that in whichever mod we use, everyone will be allowed to pick a certain car from that mod.
I would suggest that, if this is to become a regular event, that we start off with original cars and tracks, but announce which mods/tracks we will be using in future to give folk a chance to get them. It doesn't really affect me as I have pretty much all mods and tracks over 2 different GTR2 installs, as well as having unlimited nogrip downloads.

I would also suggest that any mod or track that is used should be a reputable one available from nogrip or pilsbierbude.

I would be OK with historical F1, but I'm not that keen on contemporary F1, but that's not to say you can't run it.

I re-read the original post and realised we were supposed to use the 2008 Lexus around Fuji, and not the 2009 that I used. Oops!

Managed to find time to hop into the 2008 for five or so laps, as well as about ten at Indy to set a time for the '07 ARTA NSX.

Final times submission:

ARTA NSX '07 @ Indy: 1'26.084
Petronas TOM'S SC430 '08 @ Fuji: 1'32.727

Replay files on hand for scrutineering.

I'll have to withdraw from this and any future races as the wires were stretched to the point of being broken.

Just another thing to add to an already 🤬 up day.

Ok, cool. Whats your Youtube name?

Ok then, I'll definately take note of that. I kinda was abit random with this one, but I'll get that sorted out and working good. Any way in particular that I should announce the mods/tracks in the next upcoming events?

Hmmm, I'll look into that. Only thing that bothers me about that is what if there is someone competing but is not a member of neither site?

I think as long as it's available on either, it shouldn't matter where you get the mod.

Also, I think it'd be fun to follow the 2010 SGT season, hotlapping using the 2009 cars. Maybe even do one GT500 and one GT300 per event.

Wait, I was the only one who made the 10pm deadline? :sly:

Ok then, I was under the impression you had to be a member on either site to download them.

Thats one thing I could do, along with the other mods. Once the racing season gets up and going, there should be enough events to compliment many of the real series and on weeks where there is more then one, it can be a Double or Triple Feature event.

Wait, I was the only one who made the 10pm deadline? :sly:

Hahaha, would appear so though to be fair, I kinda sprung the Deadline abit randomly.

So here's the kinda sloppy results so far:

Super GT @ Indy
Code:
1. [B]daan[/B] - 1'24.042

2. [B]Dijital Majik[/B] - 1'26.084

3. [B]RACECAR[/B] - 1'26.102

4. [B]Drillah[/B] - 1'26.688

Seems like we were real close at Indy. Guess it came down to how we exited the final turn onto the front straight.

Tour of Mt. Fuji

Code:
1. [B]daan[/B] - 1'32.055

2. [B]Dijital Majik[/B] - 1'32.727

3. [B]Drillah[/B] - 1'34.531

4. [B]RACECAR[/B] - 1'34.804

Final results will be posted in the first. I'm still awaiting times from daan since this was kind of a tryout for this.

I had trouble getting the Lexus to work. I had to download the mod again and then mix and max files as some were broken when I unzipped them.

I've just finished with the Lexus at Fuji and managed to get a 1'32.055. I was nearly off at turns 3 and 4, but I think it passes as on track. I've got at least 2 wheels on the white line at all times.

Haven't ran at Indianapolis at all, but I could just have a go just now if allowed.

Sure, go ahead. I'm still waiting.

Final say is up to RACECAR, bu I'd say go for it! :)

2 wheels on the line is on track, I had the same on turn 1. That's a blistering Fuji time for the 08 car, and will drive me nuts trying to beat it in my own time!

Just done a few laps at Indy and got a 1'24.042. I wanted a 23 but it just eluded me.

And as I've just seen everyone else in the 26's, was I at the right track? I was in an '07 ARTA NSX...

I've zipped and uploaded the replay files

EDIT: Just watched Dijital Majik's youtube lap and it would appear I've got a different version of the Indianapolis road track...

I think a low 24 is very possible on the version I have, so not surprised at your time. If it is indeed a different version, there's a download link to the track we're using on page 1 of this thread that RACECAR posted.

Hmmm, wonder where you downloaded yours from. The one I found was in a track pack.

I have no idea. I have hundreds of tracks over 2 GTR2 installs.

I know this is a double post. I'll merge it later.

This is the "readmeGTR2" from my Indianapolis track
RacerM,

Indianapolis1.3
I want to first thank TTTTT for allowing his initial permission for conversion of his Rfactor track to GTL and GTR2.
derDumeklemmer did the most recent conversion to GTL and as always did a fantastic job. He cleaned the track
up and removed all of the problems that caused the unstable play in the first GTR2 version. He added the Marshals
and animations as well as increased the grid to 36 cars. I added the rain reflections as well as updated the pace car and
converted the mas file to gtr2. This version includes the new AIW that adds rolling starts.

Features:

36 Car Grid
Working Pace Car
Marshals and Animations
Working Rain Reflections
Working Jumbotron screens and movies

Please review Uwe's GTL readme to understand the full scope of his work and credit.
There will be one more update to this track after this and then that should make this
the definite GTR2 Version. I want to do some minor texture updates as add some small
suprises.

Conditions:
This file can be hosted on your site as long as it remains intact and with all the readmes
included in its original state. No conversions of this track can be made unless you contact
myself and then I will be glad to discuss it with you. Thanks for downloading our track.
Can you guys check yours?

Hmmm, the one in the track pack definately did not have that "readmeGTR2". The one I downloaded yesterday though (from Pilsbierbude) definately has it.

*facepalm* How in hell did I miss that? I'm adding that in as well, thanks for the heads up:tup:

Any interest in keeping this going?

Initially had a seperate thread up for it, but it seemed no one was interested in it so I haven't been back ever since.

I'm still up for it.
I'm not into all the mods as much as the retail game cars and tracks because I'm still getting around to driving every car on every track.
But I've got a separate profile for any mods and am still willing to do some hotlaps.
