Masi, would you mind switching me to GT500 PAL. I think I would miss the power too much in the GT300s.

sorry to give my 2 cents worth, but i think you'll find the reason that the OLR rules are the way they are is because that is how GT5 defines a dirty lap. try doing any of the licence tests or with penalties on. you can put 2 wheels clearly outside of the track, but as long as two (or i think GT5 may only need 1... drifting during a penalty race... dont ask) wheels are in contact with rumble or tarmac then no penalty will be given. so sit down and SHADDAP. that is the way GT5 is meant to be played, hence why it is programmed that way. if you wanna play by FIA rules then go buy the daft ass F1 game for ps3.

Edit:

is your PSN ID actually 'Kaz_Yamauchi' ? :dopey:

Oh really?? You obviously haven't been through Eau Rouge at Spa when the penalties are on then, or to Circuit de la Sarthe since the 2.0 update. If you put all 4 wheels over the white line there you get a penalty, whether you've got wheels on the rumble strip or not. Get your facts right before you tell people to shut-up mate.

Seriously though. I don't mind being corrected by someone who knows what they are talking about like Aderm or twistedfirework but, it grinds my gears when someone just wants to butt in on a discussion that already ended. Valid points were made from both sides.

Please don't don't say you're putting in your 2 cents worth when it clearly isn't worth 2 cents.

 thanx ;)

"whether you've got wheels on the rumble strip or not."

We want to drive with the Fia Rules .
All leagues do that
GT 5's penalty system works like the Fia Rules .

But WSGTC has other Rules XD

ps: Now i see that NJ72 was talking about me .
1. Thx Daz , because i don't want to talk with people ( NJ72) who doesnt know anything about that .
2. SHADDAP ? admins: that means "Shut Up" and everyone knows that ! it's the same if i would say 🤬 instead of **** ! i hope yok will do something

If you just want to practice, you can make your own lounge and set it to the same settings that are used in the official qualifying rooms i.e. grip reduction on Real, tyre wear OFF etc... You can even set your own 5 lap race with no one else but you in it. That's what I did.

All leagues on GTP obey the GTP OLR.
If you read the OP you would know the rules.
Also you don't join a league thats in it's 3rd season and start giving out about the rules.
If you don't agree with the rules you should start your own league.
Cheers.

I was talking with regards to penalty races on suzuka, which i have done, please see below

and the phrase 'sit down and shaddap' is used in the Abe's Exoddus game series which is rated a PG, I was directly quoting another game as a funny, my apologies if it didnt entertain you. perhaps the picture below will:

And @Daz, i apologise, funnily enough I haven't done any of the licence tests since the spec 2.0 update, but when I did do them, I could leave the track providing wheels still remained on the rumble, which I am fairly sure also applies on suzuka during a penalty race because, as mentioned in my previous post, I was drifting a corner (albeit badly as i ended up the the inside of a corner) and my wheels were only in contact with a rumble. I got no penalty.

And the 2 cents line, 2 cents is worth practically nothing over here in the UK, so yes, what i said was worthless. in fact, 2 cents is worth about 1.2 pennies over here.

I'm going to say this for the last time now as, it seems people are still butting in on a discussion that ended yesterday.

1- I DID read the OP carefully and I feel the track limits rule is open to interpretation.
2- The reason I was "giving out" about the rule? Read point 1
3- I don't agree with the track limit rule and I've made a valid point as to why. This has been accepted by stewards and we've agreed to disagree. I'm willing to go by WSGTC rules from now on.
4- I am already in another league with some very good players in GT5
5- I am fully aware that I don't HAVE to race in this league and also aware that I can leave at any time if I want to.
6- I really don't need you to point out the blindingly obvious so, thanks for being one of many who've chipped in with their opinion on a subject that is already closed. As with one or 2 others that chipped in with their 2 cents worth, sorry but it seems this one wasn't worth 2 cents either.

Now can that PLEASE be case closed??

If you read back up the thread a little you will see that
I didn't quote you, so my post wasn't aimed at you.
I quoted a post that was made a couple of hours ago.

Yea I realize that. You were quoting ICEMAN-ZIDANE, the reason I answered was that Iceman was in the same qualifying room as I was, he saw the same incident as I did and seems to have the same views as I do about the whole thing. As I said, it's over now. I now understand (albeit too late) that GTP's definition of track limits is different to normal/FIA's rules. I've accepted that and moved on, just hope everyone else can too.:)

p.s. no offence intended MaccGyver

At least 2 wheels in line with curb/rumble strip rule, has been around for ages.

First used back in Prologue years ago now in IFTC event with over 500 drivers involved. Nobody complain then so why should someboday start now. Its the only logical rule for time trials.

Anyone who is against the rule, or doesn't understand it, just shows they are totly ignorant and new too online racing and then too even come in a event that is now in 3rd season and be smart about it . Just zip it, thats all I can say.

And for the second time, let's end it there. No-one has to agree with these rules, but if you want to race here you'll have to accept them and move on. It's the same for everyone. Any more inflammatory posts are risking Mod intervention, this thread has already been filled with an argument about something that is abundantly clear, we don't need any more input on the subject.

Qualifier Room E will be up around 19:30 GMT, if you want to qualify but haven't signed up for that room already, then you should do so in the next 4.5 hours, I won't be very tolerant of randoms joining my room, so it'd be wise to express your desire to qualify tonight.

Room is up. I will allow 15 minutes practice then the Qualifiers will start. Due to the low number of drivers and because there is only one of me, it will be one at a time. Only use chat if you have to. If you haven't signed up for the room but want to qualify now then post here first so I know you're coming. And finally... good luck! 👍

Think it's best you don't toyotsupra, if you join or dc in the middle of somebody's lap it could be a big distraction, I'd like to keep it as fair as possible.
