If you haven't already you should really consider selling these things if you can make them cheaply because a good rig is hard to find cheaply, you only need to order the parts and stick them in a box. These are beautiful models, making something which looks realistic is one thing but making it actually function in real life is something else.![]()
Anodising is very good in terms of scratch resistance as the dye is actually impregnated into the alloy rather than being a surface coating. I do a lot of mountain biking and have lots of shiny anodised parts on the bike, if that doesn't scratch them then nothing will

One of the best render's on the market is Lightwave from Newtek. Your rig is very nice, the only thing I would add is triple monitors and support for a PC.
