The shiny white and black surfaces look cool, but I guess this blue one will look cleaner after regular use :p
The blue also makes it look like industrial grade stuff, compared to consumer bling (in my opinion).

And would complement this nicely :D :

Even if the render helps a lot, it's still quite difficult to say which would look best irl.

I'd probably go as well. If there ever will be a day when I get the alu's predone, I'll get them anodised black I guess :) (..or powder coated). Anybody has any experience how vulnerable the anodising is to scratches etc?

If you haven't already you should really consider selling these things if you can make them cheaply because a good rig is hard to find cheaply, you only need to order the parts and stick them in a box. These are beautiful models, making something which looks realistic is one thing but making it actually function in real life is something else.

Anodising is very good in terms of scratch resistance as the dye is actually impregnated into the alloy rather than being a surface coating. I do a lot of mountain biking and have lots of shiny anodised parts on the bike, if that doesn't scratch them then nothing will :)

You're project looks great, very impressed

One of the best render's on the market is Lightwave from Newtek. Your rig is very nice, the only thing I would add is triple monitors and support for a PC.

I will - don't have much "free" money atm but once I get some I'll order a next set of these. I do know the rig is amazingly good to use so why not offer the possibility to others as well :)

Thanks! Mountain biking parts - now that I think about it, of course! :)

I still think an "aftermarket" 3 monitor support is the best option if one'd like to add triples. I have thought about a custom solution but so far no satisfactory idea has come to mind.

Lightwave - will keep that in mind - cheers

Last changes going in :D

wanted to get the full usage of height adjustment working without detaching any screws - only loosening them is enough now. Was quite a fast modeling after work, so every shape is not 100% yet but the basic principle is there.

Hey it's alive! But not ready yet!! :D

Made some progress lately, changes everywhere but the main changes / additions:
  • keyboard tray under wheel
  • beer holder
  • mouse tray (optional to make the area for mouse bigger)
  • many many tiny improvements and reservations for future and some optionality all over..

All suggestions / comments more than welcomed!
