Why is it that almost all of the time when i go to race GT5p online that i am beat by GTRs, no matter what the pp...... I kno that the GTR is a good car in real life and its soooo amazing because its faster than a Z06, but still.... So Do you think that the GTRs are too good and have an "unfair" advantage in GT5p?

According to people who have actually driven the GT-R in real life here, they feel its the real deal so I'd say no.
Its performance relative to other cars seems accurate, perhaps PD did give it split second or so bias but not much, certainly not to the point that I feel its unfair.

Of course it will beat a Z06 fairly easily, though I agree AWD systems should be banned lol :p

But i find it hard to believe that a souped-up GTR can beat an amuse or something to that extent.....
Oh and by the way, PD helped design the visual display systems in the actual GTR, so that might be a motive to "help" the GTR a bit in the game...

Well, it is a Japanese car in a Japanese game. ;)

...And it probably is a very good car in real life too. :D

Well the GT-R is great for tracks like London and Eiger aswell as low PP event's. As it gets good traction as a AWD. However it is not as fast at some of the higher PP events. The new Suzuka 650PP event should show that. I believe the GT-R is popular with alot of people because of how easy it is to Drive. But yes of course the GT-R is a very fast Car in real life, so it should also be a quick car in the game aswell.
What determines alot of how fast a car is in the game is the PP system, some Car's seem to be able to gain more from fewer PP then other's, this is something which requires alot of attention to balance out. I'm sure when GT5 comes out it will be pretty well right. ;)👍 These are the sort of things that PD might do updates for in the future.

Cheers thanks Jay V for that!;)👍
I would contribute that 'rear end step-out under brakes' to the fact the Car is quite heavy and it is also fairy long in wheel base. Maybe the Shocks need to stiffened a bit to reduce the sharpness of the weight shift off the back tyres.

Thats how GTR is in real life...
There should be a 50PP addition for using it.

Yes, I have posted a video from best motoring in another thread a while ago which showed the exact same behaviour when the driver trail braked into the final corner of Tsukuba.

Cheers mate. I suppose such weight transfer still doesn't stop the car being a beast on the track, I just can't wait to see how the Mine's R35 will handle in GT5. Think that might dominate its PP class even more!

The GT-R is fine. The PP-system however, is not. ;) Regardless of real life differences, cars with the same amount of PP should perform similar, yet they do not. Hence some cars are a lot better than others, even when at the same PP level.

To be fair though, its insanely difficult to make a fool-proof system that makes sure all cars are fairly matched without specifically choosing the cars in stock form.
I doubt anyone will ever make a system thats perfect and I think the PP system generally works well enough to put cars into similar performance classes with the odd car out of place. I doubt we will ever see a system that works better and it will be mostly up to us when it comes to private rooms to sort out balancing the cars against each other.

Yes, I do realise this, but it is that good. Is it so unbelievable because its called "Nissan"?

The fact that IRL (yes I have to bring up the Top Gear test track result), the Nissan GTR is just a hair behind the top supercars (the Zondas, Koenigsegg, Enzos and Bugattis) has something to do with how good it is in GT5P. In the game when it comes to speed track like the Daytona Road, the fastest car (Ford GT) do always come up on top.

I think that is really the issue, not that car is fast, just that the PP system seems to favour some cars over others.

Idea:
The AI could drive a fictional lap around the track you're about to drive with your setup (the 3 valuables that effect PP, being weight, power and tyres) in order to calculate the correct PP for that car.

For example: the AI calculates how long it takes for a F430 with N2 tyres to get round suzuka, against a RX8 with R1 tyres. When the lap times are the same, the PP should also be the same.

I've been thinking about that too. I do believe that the GT-R has slightly unfair PP. But I also think it will be fixed. Just like the Tuned Elises.

What about Transmission, Suspension, Braking, ABS, Turn angle...? Those doesn't effect the PP but they do effect the lap time.

i find it very realistic..it has such intense pace that is seemless and surprising for its size... and it handles well under its weight too..but all in all theyve made it so it will bite back if you try too hard :P very similar to the real deal..although ive never driven the new one.. i always have found r32-34 gtr's to give the same basic feelings..

one extra thing im reading alot in the articles is that the new GTR is so precision its "souless" or "cold"..where as the gt2 gives more of a feeling of achievment..compared to a feeling of having "gods feet"

to be fair its pretty near impossible to 100% replicate and differentiate the various characteristics between sports/racings cars from realworld-simulator

its HOW the pp points are used in most aspects..depending on which track you are playing..a certain setup will always beat other set ups with just max power etc..

I know, but right now those variables aren't a factor either. :)
