Welcome to the sign-up thread for the GTSCC. The GTSCC is a Sports Car Championship, based around racing Le Mans cars. There are three classes, Prototype, GT1, and GT2. This series will be organised and run by Radicool02, and myself.

The GTSCC will be a 9 race championship, with each round lasting 2 weeks. Each new round will begin on Wednesday, and times must be submitted by a designated time on the Tuesday 2 weeks later, otherwise they will be ignored.

Races will be 100km long, and must be completed in Arcade Mode » Single Race. AI difficulty must be set to 10. The Speed limiter penalty will be turned on to discourage AI contact. Each lap time must be recorded, as well as the total race time, and these times must be submitted to Radicool02 by PM.

A PDF file has been attached, which has the preliminary rules etc. written down. This document is not the final revision, but it will give you an idea of how things will run….

To sign up, simply post in this thread, stating your username, and the car (and class) you wish to compete with—cars and classes can be found on the attached PDF file. Please post in this format:
username – car (class)

If you wish to compete in the teams championship, please post your teamname, the car (and class) your team wishes to compete in, and the members of the team. You may only have two members in each team. Please post in this format:

Alright everyone. On Sunday I will be holding a test session for the GTSCC which will last 2 weeks, giving you all enough time to get used to your cars, and to maybe bring more intrest to the series.
Joining in the test session is not compulsary, but I think it would be a good idea, to see how you stand up against the other members before the championship starts, and just for some pre-championship fun. :)

Welcome to the GTSCC. I'll have the testing session up very soon!

Ok Jack I'll join damn you *shakes fist*

Thoughts on adding a "Success" or "Rewards" weight system?

Just thought it would be a way of producing a competitive "every dog has its day" series.

What dose that mean? Would we get something for winning or dose it mean something else?

Success or Rewards weight means... Well I'll just show you an example:

On a given race weekend it is extra ballast weight added to the successful cars i.e. first place gets +40kg of ballast in order to slow it down. Second gets slightly less, third, slightly less than second etc. etc. At a certain point weight that was added on to the cars can be taken off.

e.g.

01. +40kg
02. +35kg
03. +30kg
04. +25kg
05. +20kg
06. -20kg
07. -25kg
08. -30kg
09. -35kg
10. -40kg

Or something along those lines.

Depending on the number of entrants in each class, we would have to figure out the best way to use the ballast weight system. For instance, if there is only five competitors, we have got ourselves a problem because ballast added versus ballast removed would wildly change the chances that there is an even race. One week the fastest car and driver would dominate, the next, because of the ballast the slowest would win. The following week, we'd be right back at square one. The more I think of it, ballast (rewards or success, whatever you want to call it) most likely wouldn't work. So I guess we just leave it up to the officials to make the right calls when someone appears to be dominating.

Next, after doing some testing I have discovered the Toyota GT ONE is to fast for GT1 and to slow for P1. I would recommend a weight addition to the GT ONE in order to allow it to compete in the GT1 class and keep all things on equal grounds. Also, BarrettJ the Viper is the problem. When I tested it, I came up approximately three seconds slower than the fastest GT1 car in the field. Demoting or "class readjusting" the Viper would be advisable. The car in its current state is approximately two seconds quicker than the fastest GT2 car out there. In my humble opinion, through the magic of Arcade Mode, the Viper could be made competitive with the field in GT2. Today I plan on testing the GT2 class in its entirity to figure out if, in the hands of equally capable drivers, how competitive each vehicle is.

EDIT: Ridiculous gramatical error was found and corrected. Sorry for the overall poor form. I hoped that this post helped otherwise.
