Alrighty, sore back and all I'll way in. The GT1 class is a group of miss-fits. The Toyota GT ONE is about 2 seconds off top LMP1 times in the hands of equally capable drivers (aka I did some testing and came up with some crazy results.) Problem the second, the Panoz Esperante GTR-1, which probably could be the class of the field, if the GT ONE wasn't another two seconds QUICKER (this time!!!) cannot conserve fuel and tires to any extent without every race drivers hated enemy "driving aids" Grrr! The Dodge Viper GTS is about (it must be a magic number) 2 SECONDS to quick for the GT2 Class and TWO SECONDS too slow for the GT1 class. Some serious changes are going to have to be made to the cars. 'Course, I can't complete my testing because I am bed ridden due to a torn muscle in my back (3-6 weeks) which is a driving/golf/sneezing injury, I COULD explain but I WON'T! Anywho... if there are any capable drivers out there, maybe YOU could take over my testing and see if you get similar resulsts (my numbers could be "biast" in a way do to driving style.) Following that see if you can figure out any changes that can be made to the cars to make them all fit. With the work I had done for the Panoz/Toyota discrepencies, I discovered that the Toyota wayed in at 900kg's to the Panoz's 1150 (or 1125, I can't remember.) Then it hit me like a football to the groin, the GT ONE was competing with cars like BMW's V12 LMR, so what I wanted to do was do some testing to see if the V12 LMR could fit in an LMP2 class with the GT ONE. Unfortunately, the LMR was competitive in the P1 class and from there I was not willing to do anymore testing, it was about 11:00pm and I had school the next day. Oh well, now I'm just blabbering, I hope someone was able to figure out what I have been saying and take appropriate actions (shoot me, I'm a threat to society as we know it!)

I can do some testing of you can get me a car list. And I did some laps in the
Toyota GT1 and I got a 1:00:xxx lap time. I think I can get more I'm not sure:indiff:.
And I think I will pull out of the GTSCC because after some testing I have
found that the RX-8 is not for me. What I sould have picked was the 787B
because I can get a 59:xxx lap time:ouch:. It's not that I can't drive the RX-8,
it's just not as fun as the 787B. Sorry:(.

NO!! Don't leave me ALONE!!:scared::( When are they going to start this thing aready!?!:grumpy:

We'll be starting when Blake gets back from Europe, which I for some reason thought was today. We still need to discuss things about the championship, manily the Toyota GT-Ones speed issue.:)

As a concerned entrant and a certified pain in the something-or-other, I would like to be involved in the final discussions and decision making process that go into finalizing the series.

Yeah, so I’m back.

Interesting testing m.piedgros, could you post up, or PM me, all of your fastest laps for the cars you tested—that data could be very useful since we have to sort out these speed issues.

I, like everybody, want to get the racing underway, so Jack and I will figure out a solution ASAP, with a race starting in (hopefully) 48 hours. :)

Normally I would love to enter a championship like this, but I first want to move on with the game, because I haven't done that for almost a year. I did some online races for GTPlanet, but I never did a GT4-championship again. Summer is also coming, so I don't know if I'm able to race when I would enter ;)

Can you please take my name off your list, this does not sound fun any more.
And I have too much too do as it is any ways.

Blake - I've PMed some of my testing times to Radicool. I can get them for you if need be, but otherwise, I think he has them.

Everyone - Maybe we could just open up a race weekend, round one for instance, and see what problems arise over the raceweekend. Numbers found in testing versus numbers found over an entire weekend (especially while in "race trim") will vary.

Sounds good to me. Let's just start this, while there is still interest. We can keep on planning and planning, but then it would never get off the ground.

Idea:

Two classes. Prototype and GT. I do like the idea of three classes (because I'm a HUGE GT fan - I'd actually prefer all four classes) but I don't believe that if any changes are to be made, the GT1 class would make sense. Let's just get rid of the Esperante, put the Viper back into GT2 (see how it runs, I think it can be easily made competitive if it is not already) and put the GT ONE (if possible) in Prototype. The Toyota and Bentley could be "rivals" and the alongside the Audi v. Courage-Peugot "rivalry."

I think that would make the series a fun, competitive, easy to run series that we could all agree upon. Again, the GT ONE might not fit in, I don't know, We'll figure that out. Otherwise we could start a race today with this set-up.

I would like to hear all of your thoughts,

m.piedgros

DRIVERS WANTED!

Hello GTSCC perspective participants. Having seen the very little amount of action going on in this post, it was apparent GTSCC could no longer run. For this reason I invite you all to run in the FIA GT3 series I am running. Check out each of the threads I have posted for more information.
