I think he was giving the hint to think of a smaller car, perhaps in the same family (Tom's is a Toyota tuner...)

So here's mine:

You see me in Super GT beginning in 2008. In GT2 I am a rare used car. See if you can guess my name before anybody else!

Super GT beggining in 2008???
 
Yup, beginning in 2008, GT300 class. Means it's a long running model, probably...:sly: Got it's first win in 2010, and still in GT300 this year.
 
Nissan R390? I don't know how many races this car won in reality.
 
Now, is the R390 a used car? Also, you missed the last post, but the R390 would be GT500.
 
Lexus IS?
Or maybe its the LEXUS SC??

Not sure when the SC or IS got involved in GT300/GT500, but they're certainly not rare used cars in GT2. Look over an online list of all the cars in GT2, and think which ones are very uncommon in the used lots, and you'll make some better guesses. And no, it's not the Impreza 22B.

Also, there's another hidden hint in the first post.

No, but nice car! Just again, not rare or used. And also missing the hint in the third sentence of the initial clue. And I don't know if anybody follows Super GT enough to know about when cars first appeared or got first wins, but I'm pretty sure this is the only car which arrived on the Super GT scene in 2008 and got its first win in 2010.

Subaru Legacy B4? The Cusco team won a GT300 race in 2010 running that car.

Bingo! Thus the hint is revealed, "See if you can guess my name before anybody else!" I've been keeping track of rare car appearances in my GT2 game, starting with day 1800, and now in day 2124 (more than half of the 600 day cycle later) I still haven't found a B4 RSK!!!!

Let's see... to make gold, you need yellow, brown, and white. The Renault Clio 16V can be earned in these three colors. Yell at me if I am not right.
