Guess That Car: GT5+6 Edition.

Oh sorry, I've been distracted.
No to these guesses. Hint #2: the "since 1999" bit of my riddle means a gaming franchise that you guys should easily guess.

Then comes another problem. Defining touring cars. Some people say anything from 80hp Lupo Cup to 700hp GT (grand touring) is touring cars. Others (like me) define touring cars as stuff like aforementioned Lupo Cup, WTCC/BTCC, the new DTM being the exception confirming the rule.

Sparky may've got it with the Viper and Supra.

The Opel Calibra is a Touring Car that's been in the GT franchise since Gran Turismo 2, which first came out in late 1999.
