I didn't know the car, but did a little research around Holdens (as you said Holden was a good starting point) and discovered several Isuzus were rebadged as Holdens, then remembered you said it was Asian anyway, so checked out various Isuzus from there :)

No. It had a Cadillac engine. Another feature is that the front wheels were smaller than the back wheels.
