Due to my recent discovery of the "Print Screen Button", I've came up with this. The object is to copy a picture from Google Earth/Live Maps, Edit out features such as coordinates and street names and then post it here.
The person who guesses correctly may post a picture of their own for us to guess.
Make sure the picture has a distinguishing feature and not just a field or something similar. Give up to 5 clues (Country, Region of the Country, Unrevealing description of what we're looking at, etc.). OR do the same but with a town.

Here are two examples of what I mean:

In Dorset, England, A Naval Base Runway, On an Island.

Large Eastern American City, Cheese Named After It.

Too easy but I dont want the picture so someone else can have it.

Princess Juliana International Airport

I know because I am into aviation and that airport has some great landings from err, beach eye view.
 
Second one is Philly. And I'm gonna take a stab in the dark for the first one... Portland Naval Base.. ?

There's no such thing as Philly cheese. Just philly cheesesteak.

MY guesses: Piconning and the Top Gear track.

Google Earth/Live Maps, PRTSC Button on Keyboard, Score out the Lat/Long on Paint and then post! :)
 
Yes I did google the street name. :indiff:

You only need 2 clues for this one I think. :sly:
It's in the USA, but not in the USA.
September 11th comes to mind.
It's a bit of history in the second clue.
If more clues are needed I can add them.

Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack on the US.
September 11, 2001 New York City's World Trade Center was destroyed by a surprise attack.

Certainly the 2 biggest hits (losses) on our soil and both enterered us into war.
