Quite a good clue at that, it's indeed Australian. CA-16 is quite close but I still dare to say that CA-15 would be spot on. I doubt it can be found in a museum though as the only prototype was scrapped...

There's just no stumping the Flyin' Finn. He's the Tiger Woods of aircraft spotters...

Nah, when it looks like a Mustang but isn't one there aren't too many choices left. :p

This one then... might be a repost, possibly even from myself, but it fits the situation too well not to be used.

Bah. The actual aircraft wasn't in a museum but they had a huge rotating display with several photos of it. I just remembered it because of the covers that lead down to the wheels. I really like the design of the aircraft that's why it stuck in my head.

This one may take some research.

It's a Fairey Gannet, I believe. I always thought they were pretty cool looking.

Bonus points if you can give the nickname:

That's correct, also sometimes called the Cargomonster. But it has a different nickname I'm looking for, as well. But in the meantime, post one up.

About the nickname, how does Leviathan sound? An an extra trivia, the Cargomaster flew for the last time on August 30.

I was thinking of "Weenie Wagon" - considering its uncanny resemblance to the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile.
