*Edit* Ah, there is a gondola under the cockpit, I couldn't see it the first time I looked. :dunce:

Is it a Junkers Ju 88 C-series with odd propellors? :odd:

I'm sure it's a Messerschmit, and I'm 99% sure it was designed primarily for ground attack, but I'm not sure of the designation, so here's a semi-educated guess.

Me-410?

I'm sorry, but you're both off, it looks very similar to the 410 but if you look closely, the Hornisse has a single tail fin, this has two. The Messerschmitt also has single wheel undercarriages, this has twins. :)

Greycap
Still no cigar, I'm beginning to believe that I picked a too difficult one. :(
The closest thing I can think of is a Focke-Wulf FW187, but I don't entirely think that's right.

You got the rarity (very rare) quite right Duke, but the answer is still totally wrong. It seems that this is for the most hardcore WW2 nuts only.

If nobody gets this right until Sunday, I'm going to tell what it is.

AND WE HAVE A WINNER! Bingo!

That's great, the planes in the pictures are actually Ar440 but as they look similar (I found the picture by googling Ar240:P) you got it! 👍

Put one up, please.

:D

Mmkay, no-one got it last time I accidentally posted it. What, may I enquire, is this?

That's a Buchon, a Spanish Messerschmitt Bf109J, a license-built Bf109G that was re-engined with a Rolls Royce Merlin.

I'll let someone else post the next picture. 👍

Are you supplying us with a magnifying glass so that we can see it?

And please use the edit button. Double posting is a no no.

I wasn’t quibbling – I was sincerely curious, because a lot of your posts have been somewhat unintelligible.

Excuse this for a minute . . .Sorry, sure Sage , yeah perhaps , my typing skills are subnormal but i don't mean to create an ignorant atmosphere , I espied a Challenge , I a as PureNewbie No.1 was trying my best to make the syllabic metre worthwhile , Plus that gif ain't running and it is not ripped but merely archived with Imageshack . I have to run now nut see you tommorrow , if all goes well .

VeilsideR33sub
this does'nt look like holding up against greycap etc , but , well , you offered . .
I believe that's a Sikorsky.

VeilsideR33sub
Duke , it is a Sikorsky , but can you grab the bird's number ? It can do 100mph and was wind - tunnel tested .
I won't be able to come up with it without Googling, and there's no point in that. I do remember seeing that particular picture as a kid, and being struck by how nonchalantly those two guys seem to be standing on the turtledeck while the plane is in flight.
