How did I not get that! I always thought Fokker to be a German company, what with the Dreidecker. No wonder the design was offered to the Allies, then.

Fokker T.V.?

Still, not a Fokker.. Fokker had more elegant designs. 3 more tries before I reveal the name.

Very close. Very close indeed... I haven't been participating as I was involved in choosing the aircraft but that's a damn good guess.

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! *drumrolls, and final fantasy 7 victory theme*

This was the military version of an eight passenger commercial airliner built in the Netherlands. Power was supplied by two Bristol Mercury VIII radials. The bomber version was supposed to carry four crew members and 1,000 kg. of bombs.

Quite an obscure aircraft, and the choice epitomizes the real spirit of this thread. Excellent find!

It is just a rendering...

"This is a new panel for English Electric Lightning designed for Kazunori Ito's model."

Just to inform you, I'm a an old CFS nut and a regular at Simviation, CombatFS, Netwings, Sim-Outhouse... mr. Ito's models are quite well known for me. :p

My God! Nothing escapes you! Tell me, are you a member of a spotting club?

Your turn.

I like these weird pictures... all the clues are there, it up to you guys to pick the "donor".

Correct in that it's a fighter... otherwise you're pretty badly off. There are certain things in the picture that help narrow the choice a lot.

Certain cues point that way but should they be followed? ;) There's only one aircraft that has details like that and it's probably familiar to you. Oh, and while we're at it... let nitpick a bit. The model alone won't do, I want the submodel too. :sly:

Not a LaGG or Su, and to my understanding it's not wooden. It shouldn't be, at least. And not a Hurricane either, that one would have gun ports in the leading edge.

Getting close when it comes to the style of the aircraft. There are only two "technical" things that stand out in the picture and those are the ones that will help you pinpoint the model. It's a very familiar aircraft but the lack of details is fooling you. Also, reconsider the true meaning of the first sentence in post #648...

I don't see a cross at all unless you mean the one in the background, which probably doesn't belong in this aircraft anyway as it's in a way too good condition. Other than that, you're getting very close but both of those aircraft had wing guns and the wing in the picture clearly has no weapons on it.

Think the small things on the wing. The bump near the root is your best clue here, recognize it and you'll have the model and the submodel down.

Ah, you're thinking it's the bulge covering the breech of the wing root cannon. Good thinking but as said, the aircraft had no wing guns fitted. Fuselage guns only. You're about as close as you can get without being there, consider the leading edge slat (the Fw didn't have those) and you'll take the last step.

LaGG means Lavochkin-Gorbunov-Gudkov so it's technically not the same but in this case it's virtually the same as the aircraft is nothing made by the Soviets. Not the famous Dreidecker either, this is seemingly so easy that it's impossible to get.

For God's sake, it's the most built fighter submodel ever, you must have seen it somewhere. :p
