Twin ring motegi
No.
Spa or Nurburgring?
I agree, the most reasonable answer is the Nordschleife.

That's not my original intended answer... :p
Though the Nurburgring did used to hold Grand Prix(es) (which is a point similar to the track I had in mind), it's still rather famous, as many people drive on it every day and manufacturers use it for testing purposes ;)

The track I am thinking is much less famous after its diminish. ;)

Daytona?
Indy?
Not European and not Japanese...

Your second guess is correct, sir! (apparently you have read the little white words beneath :p)

The Indy Road Course has stopped holding Grand Prix since 2008 (not sure), and after that, I don't remember any famous races (by this I mean very, very famous ones, like F1 and NASCAR) held on it.

And because the Super Speedway still holds NASCAR nowadays, it got 'overshadowed by its shorter brother' ;)

Your turn now, gamerdog6482.

(Thank God someone managed to guess it correct before I sleep... Good night!)

I'm stumped. All the circuits are reasonably well known.

Tha's becuase it lost F1 in 2008, and its Super Speedway counterpart still holds NASCAR ;)

I never played NFS 1...
And I completely forgot about this thread.

OK, if it can help, I'll tell you what I mean with first generation:

1st generation: the original generation.
First game in generation: NFS 1
Last game in generation: Hot Pursuit 2

2nd generation: the "Underground" generation
First game in generation: Underground
Last game in generation: Carbon (arguably Undercover)

3rd generation: the "track" generation
First game in generation: Prostreet
Last game in generation: Shift 2 (for now)

4th generation: the "back to roots" generation
First game in generation: Hot Pursuit (2010)
Last game in generation: Hot Pursuit (2010) (arguably The Run)

Earliest NFS I played was Underground. Loved it, but never played anything before that.

Ok. I do have quite a few more hints but I'll wait for someone to make a guess :)

im guessing grand valley because it looks like landtrasse from high stakes

Well, the thinking is correct.. Maybe more correct than you think.. It's not a hit though :)

Edit: here's a hint:
"46 to county, in pursuit of an orange Lamborghini"
