It actually looks like a Republic P-26 Peashooter.

It does

Unrelated, as far as I can tell, but:

Similar size
Almost identical performance
Built just a year earlier
Almost identical armament

Only one of these was built

Man, I saw this thing while I was looking for pics of the Botha (I think) but I cannot track down where I found it.

911, how about some more hints?

All right, with that, now I've got it. It was a total gimme, though.

It's a Vickers 151 'Jockey'.

Go again, 911, since you really stumped us! Excellent work there. I've found a lot of planes I didn't think anyone could identify, but I've tried to limit it to airplanes I could picture in my head when I thought of the name.

This is easy really.

I have a friend who flies one of these for LIAT.

Without the Cerano de Bergerac nose (the plane, that is).

Not that my friend has a big nose either. She has lovely features.

I hope this isn't ANOTHER thread I've assassinated.

No, I just haven't had a chance to chase it down. It's a DeHavilland Dash-Something-or-other... let's see what I can turn up.

Dash 8, I guess, in milspec with a lot of radar in the snoot.

:hopes:

I didnt even know where to start - and searching google didnt seem very appealing at the time for some reason.

Rivetting? Not sure. But here goes:

👍 ding ding ding 👍

I posted that because one just flew over on a very low and tight approach - I mean like under 1000 ft, full flaps (man, talk about area!), banked at about 30 degrees to turn onto final. Plus I'll be working on the C-17 beddown at Dover AFB in a few weeks!

Good to see a new face on the board! Your go, 5liter. Stump the experts...

how do i down size the pictur file?? its too big and i keep trying to find one thats within the limits but i dont have one

You'll need Photoshop or MSPaint or some kind of graphics program. OR, you can just find one that is hosted on the web already, and link to it using the [ img] [ /img] tag. Put the URL of the image in between the two tags, and remove the extra spaces I typed inside the brackets.

ok, much better pic, but I dont think, neon_duke you should answer this one... :D i think u know what it is...

Confirmed. 5liter asked me not to guess, though...

Go for it, 911.

I think Neon Duke may get this one straight away, but I'm not going to ban him from guessing!
:)

Might be an idea for me to search BEFORE posting to see if it's been done before. And this one was done recently.

Try again, though this one also might be instantly familiar to Neon Duke.

I can't even see if that is a cargo or passenger plane. :grumpy:

Neon - I can't believe the bank angle on that c-17 you posted

Anyone in the Bay Area notice the F-18's flying over in the past couple of days?

If anyone posting in this thread lived in the Bay Area, I am sure they would have.
