Front cowling looks like a Spitfire, but funny vents on underside are throwing me off.

If it is a Spit, is it the Spit Mk21? That had conta-rotating blades.

Are you sure those are RAF markings? Not many other airforces flew Spitfires.

I think they are RAF markings, but that tail and that funny vent on the underside dont look like a Spit.

Some sort of modified Hawker Fury? It's 5 AM and I have class at 12...

wait, i will give some clues,

it uses a Rolls Royce Griffon 83 V12 liquid cooled engine 2340 hp
if that doesnt help i will give another

The only two planes that I know that use a Griffon Engine are the previously mentioned Spit and P-51 Mustang, which became the RB-51.

well its not them, are you ready for the next clue?

Today, the company is known primarily for its line of ejector seats

also the aircraft is considered by many as being the best all round fighter evolved during World War II. at first sight, it looks a lot like a modified P-51D mustang

Oh, I know! I won't say, I gotta go to bed and I won't be able to post a reply pic. The plane never went into production and someone is building a replica of it. :)

I have to push off now, so once you have gotten a feeling you are correct, you will have to get a confirmation from someone else, or post a pic of the one you have found.

👍

damn it, there is so many aircraft that look like that

Bingo

Beechcraft XA-38 "Grizzly"
