Seeing as Lost was a google job and I have never seen it, Eastern Creek Raceway (Nearest track to Sydney Airport)

Looked at a few ideas (I was a fan of Lost) and I have no idea! I can't find a map of it, but I've found a poster for the "1934 Los Angeles Municipal Airport Pacific Speedway"??? PLEASE!?!?!?!

Isle of Man TT?

EDIT: Thats the name of the race, not the track.
Snaefell Mountain Course

Nevermind, me being dim, I thought you were playing on words. Pacific - specific.

Nope, it's neither of those, Jimlaad ... but one is kind of close, if you get my meaning.

Here's more:

And that clue again: it's on and island and it's not on an island - at the same time.

Phakisa freeway south africa

(It would help if the best website for finding tracks hadn't just died for some reason)

No, and no - you were on the right track with the island. And between Most and Oulton Park, one is closer than the other.

A few more guesses, and then I'll reveal all before bed since it's 1:00am here.

Yas Marina? I'm just guessing because it's an artificial island, I guess it makes sense.

Edit: Whoops, wrong island.

Alright, I think that's enough. You're not going to get it.

The correct answer is Nagatino Island, Russia

The circuit was originally developed in 2001 to be the home of the Russian Grand Prix. It was going to be built on the site of Nagatino, an island in the Mockba river in Moscow that became a peninsula decades ago when silt started to build up, and the Soviets finished the job themselves. Despite a commercial agreement with Bernie Ecclestone, the mayor of Moscow rejected the idea in 2002 on the grounds that it was not good enough for the city. It was officially shelved in March 2003, and was never developed though ground was broken at the site. It has since been turned into a marina, golf course and hotel, but the site is notorious in the city - valued at over $300 million, it was one of the largest undeveloped sites in the city centre. In 2005, two Russian businessman connected to the development project were found dead, murdered by who the authorities believe to be the solntsevskaya bratva, one of the most powerful organisations in the notorious Russian underworld. The case remains unsolved.

I would have never guessed that.
(By the way, a proposed and not/never to be built track kind of counts as fictional)
The track has to have been operational as a track for it to count.

Well, the clues were there: it's on an island, because the name is 'Nagatino Island'. However, it's not on an island because it has become part of the mainland, and also because it was not developed. And Most is in the Czech Republic, much closer to the planned site of Nagatino Island than Oulton Park is.

Anyway, that's me done for the night. Someone else can have a go.
