Speaking of displays, try to drop the habit of maximizing your windows. You’ll find that it’s way way way more efficient to keep windows at a “reasonable” size, and to overlap them so that you can see several at a time.

:D

Then don’t save stuff to your desktop. ;) It’s an easy habit to break.
Meh!

I'll just keep it on the left on my screen, though I'm not removing any icons from it since Quicksilver isn't as fast as just clicking an icon.

Try re-installing the latest version, and make sure the plugins you use are up-to-date and Intel-compatible.

Already reinstalled Growl. But how do I find out which extensions are Intel-compatible?

Ah, sorry :dunce:, I forgot that the plugins aren’t architecture-dependent. They should all work fine, as long as they’re the latest versions. Are there any specific things you’re having trouble with?

Ive got a question about iTunes. I can (finally) access my internal drive and external drives on my PC over the network. I went to File>Add to Library and then navigated to the external drives and it is taking a HORRIBLY long time. I understand it's gonna take a while since I'm trying to add several thousand files, but I really don't think it should take this long. Am I doing something wrong? Also, are there alternative audio players for Mac? I'm not really digging iTunes, but it's not too bad.

Couldn't you just enable (Windows) iTunes to share its music? Granted, you'll need your PC, as well as iTunes to be running, but it might save you some time.

Also, I haven't really felt the need to search for an alternative music player for Mac. However, there's always the open-source cross-platform Songbird. I've only used a very early alpha version a while back (on Windows), so I can't really give you my take on the music player. It doesn't look like it has the polish of iTunes, but I guess it's worth looking at.

Safari, Adium, Growl (a notification is supposed to pop up whenever an app registers with it), NewsFire (though I'm not sure about it), etc. Supposedly in Safari, a notification is supposed to pop up after a download, but it never happens. With Adium, with all the things it has enabled in the Growl pref pane, it doesn't do any of those things. I know Acquisition works, and maybe Transmission, but nothing else works.

I had my camera set to auto mode. One was focused on the screen more than the keyboard, hence the difference in color.

CRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAZAAAAAY!!!

that thing is an awesome machine....LUCKY YOU!

*STOMPS AWAY FROM COMPUTER*

I've got another question. Apparently since my external drives are NTFS, I can't write to them from my Mac. I was told about this program called MacDrive which I guess lets PCs write to hard drives formated under OSX.

What I am doing (it's the only thing I can think of) is cleaning the external drives off while connected to the PC, then copying the files over to the internal drive (its 200gb and hardly any of its used...my MBP hdd is only 100gb with 68gb currently left). Once I've done that, I will connect the externals to the MBP and format them, so that I can write to them, then copy the files over the network from the PC to the external drives. Will this work if I have MacDrive installed on my PC?

The Unarchiver – OS X has a built-in program that can un-zip files; however, you normally would have to download Stuffit Expander to open .sit (or related) files. The Unarchiver is a new program that replaces all of those and can basically expand almost any compression format, and it’s small and unobtrusive.

Thanks for this tip, Sage. However, it would not open a .sitx file, so I had to download Stuffit once again :grumpy:

Funny you mention that now, because a new version of The Unarchiver was released today – might wanna try it to see if it works better. :)
