Hmm, it couldn' be you could it Sage. Congrats man, I'm sure you deserved it.

You can put wheels on a G5 case.
But it probably couldn't break 30.

I mean, come on - 6000 pounds, is it?

Congratulations. :)

Congrats on getting the license before 18 Sage!👍

[grumble]I've got to wait till I'm 18...[/grumble]

Excellent, man! Now should I start calling you 'Ridge Runner'? Or BRAT? Or...? Have fun and get good at it!

Congrats Sage! I'm still doing my driving lessons, but I should hopefully have my own license by the end of September.

Cheater! Who told you?! 👎

Thanks everybody! :D And no, I don't get my own car – I'll be driving both the Subie and the Ranger, depending on who's using what (although I'm guessing that the Ranger will be my primary vehicle during the school year... once my dad buys another truck for himself).

Actually, it's a little more complicated than that. We have two cars in the family – the Outback and the Ranger. But of course, we have three people in the family. Currently, my dad uses the Ranger to get to work, and the Outback is for mom's use. My dad is retiring on the 22nd (next Wednesday) – thus, it would seem that because he wouldn't need the Ranger to get to work, I'd get it. And for the remainder of the summer, I do, but I can also use the Subie if it's available. However, the dilemma comes on August 16th, because all three of us are starting school that day... I (of course), my mom works as a preschool teacher, and my dad will start a college course on AutoCAD (good for him, since he dropped out of college over 40 years ago :p). So, three people going in three different directions, but only two cars.

Now, my dad wants to buy a new truck though – so that I can have the Ranger permanently. So if we got a new truck before August 16th, all'd be well and good, but all of the new trucks are coming out this fall (Toyota Tacoma, Dodge Dakota, and maybe the Nissan Frontier). So we have to wait until then.

But anyway, at least I can drive myself to Cross Country practice. :)

Congrats Sage!! I'm jealous. I've still got until December until I get mine, and I doubt my parents would let me drive my Celica in the snow. I hope you enjoy the errands you'll get bogged down with now you have your licence. Have fun with it, and don't be too reckless ;) .

You should run to Cross Country practice. That way, when you get there, you no longer have to practice. ;)

Congrats, dude! Got any travel plans? I think it was the day after I got my license I drove all the way to Vegas, then drove back home. I didn't have enough money to spend the night.

20 miles is a wee bit on the long side... :p (And 20 of them on the freeway! :scared:)

Naw, my mom would never let me do something like that... she's the hyper-protective-my-teen-is-too-young kind of person. I bet you anything if I stayed out for an hour after CC practice ended, she'd frantically call me asking if anything's wrong, and then reprimand me for worrying her. I'm just going to play things safe and slowly get her used to the idea. ;)

No Kidding! Should I clear out the Bird room for any unexpected guests?

J/K congrats on getting the license. Remember the statistic 99% of new drivers use their insurance before turning 21.

Do you realize that many of the members here on GTP haven't seen a BRAT, or likely even heard of one?

Good Luck, Sage

Ugh, don't ever listen to your friends when you do get a car becuase if you do then you'll end up buying/installing a siren/PA system/ding-dong cart horn thing in your car that can annouy up to 1/4 mile away when you should have bought gas or something useful.

Oh, and Sage. Do you know how to work a manual?
I don't think he knows how to work an automatic...

Good one? It's almost true! :D Both the Subie and the Ranger are manuals... you wouldn't believe how difficult of a time I had driving the Driver's Training cars, which were all automatics. :dunce:

I wonder what driving the BRAT would be like... mmmm, 11 forward gears.
