Eh.. I love the song list, who cares, they are fun to play, thats the point of the game, its not a music CD its a game. The song list beats the first game by a sheer number of songs 65 compared to 30 somthing. your complaints are about the way the guys sing? Thats crazy. I like message in a bottle, its called guitar hero not HardRock hero. Its about simulating guitar playing in songs. Its like saying the Mini cooper is out of place in GT4.

More hardcore songs that caught me off guard and suprised me. I have just 2 songs to beat on Expert. Hanger and Freebird, beat both in quickplay but hanger is very tough.
 
I just finished the game on medium and I gotta say this game rocks even more than the first one. There's a lot of songs that I didn't know, but there's a lot of great ones too.

And the multiplayer is so much better on GH2, I was playing last night with my girlfriend and we had a great time. I'm loving this game!
 
I finaly beat Hanger 18 and all the standard songs on expert. Hanger 18 should have been the last song since its harder than Freebird. Only solo J gives me problems. beat free bird the both times I played it.

The song list i better than the first game, even the song by the pretenders is fun but tough to play. Try the bonus songs BR.

Just got it this afternoon as a little christmas present to myself, I love it already! And you should have seen my face when I found out Rage Against The Machine was on the game! Maaan I went straight to quickplay with that so I could a play a little bass! :D

Just completed Easy, Medium is fairly challenging, curse that blue button!
 
Don't worry, you'll get used to it pretty soon. And then you'll have the orange button...

I think the covers on the first game were closer to their originals than on GH2. It's mostly with the singers, but on Sweet Child O'Mine even the guitar distortion is a bit off.
 
The covers were better in the first. But the annoying end part of Sweet Child of Mine is dead on ;).The Rage song has to be the worse its not even close...
 
I got this game for Christmas and i love it! I beat the game on medium yesterday. I'm working on Hard now, but it's proving to be really hard. I can only do a few songs and not end up in the yellow or red by the end of the song.
 
Ive had Guitar Hero 2 since christmas now. Ive been playing on and off and have so far beat the game on easy and medium. Im pretty used to the blue button now it just the darn orange one tripping me up! I can see it taking quite a while before i will beat hard or expert.

Also saw this vid on youtube and its quite something! Is it from guitar hero 1 or 2?

The song Guitar Hero belongs to GH1 (bonus song), where it is used too as background music for the credits.
As for the orange button, well, I too wish I had 6 fingers in my left hand :D
 
I havent been able to find a copy of GH2, so I got madden and some other stuff instead. :indiff:

That's too bad, man, but don't give up looking for this.

I stopped playing on hard for a while and now I'm focusing on getting five stars on every song in medium level so I can get one of the unlockable guitars. Three more songs to go. I also noticed there's a couple of guitars that can only be bought if you finish the game on easy and get five stars on every song. That sucks, having to play the game on easy will be quite boring I guess...

Do any of you know how many different bass(es?) are there in the game? I reckon you unlock those by playing in multiplayer, we got three so far and I would like to know if there's more. By the way, playing the bass is really cool too. There should be a single player mode for it.
 
There are more than 3 basses. I have 6 or 7 of them already, but I don't know how many there are. And I didn't google for it.
 
Hangar 18 just got owned. It looks possible but the guy playing was great. Jordan's solos are nutsz but not as long as this marathon of a song.

I finally beat Cowbiys from Hell and Bark at the Moon on Expert :)
 
Has any of you tried to create a custom version of GH2? I am reading about it on ScoreHero and it seems pretty interesting. I gotta try that out!

Check this video of Symphony X's Inferno (Unleash The Fire) on GH2. I know I mentioned this song on the GH3 wishlist thread, but damn, it seems so hard to play! :lol:

Ive been chilling over at scoretones for awhile, some of the guys there make some great stuff.

Im still having problems getting the red button down. I just got this game about 4 days ago.
 
Great vids! it looks so much faster in the videos than when your actually playing it. Ive mastered the hard levels now and im on the Expert which are not much more difficault than hard to be honest, just more chords as opposed to single notes.

Id like to be able to import my own songs but to be honest im way to lazy.

I do agree though, he is pretty damn hot at this game 👍 he has already taken part in a regional official Guitar Hero II competition and finished 6th overall in the UK when all scores where added to the online leaderboard from all regions and that was a good few months ago ... he has improved loads since then as he plays it everyday against his mate who is almost as good as him .. they are both 15 year old btw! It's really cool watching them have a battle against each other :scared:
I was thinking that only GT games and a DS2 could wreck your hands over a time period but this GH has gotta be worse over a duration! but it keeps them happy and out of trouble ;)

I managed to follow the insructions over at scorehero and add some custom songs onto the game, although I don't play the game itself it's fun watching my son do his thing :D

Here's a vid of him and his friend doing Jordan on co op mode



Will post some of his custom song vids up as soon as we get some recorded.👍

I'll be playing..er..scratch that...failing this song by the end of the weekend I hope. I just got a Slide Card and Swap Magic combo in, so I can play burned games* and imports now.
