Hey thats only 15 min from my house if even that. I've been tempted to ride that coaster. That Six Flags has had alot of accedents in the past on a few other rides. A river rafter ride flipped upsidown serverly injuring all 8 passengers and i think 1 died. 1 passenger included a preganent women. The roller coaster the Mind Eraser got stuck upside-down for 6 hours before the people could get off. 1 roller coaster train collided with another roller coaster train injurying people. I forget the name of that coaster. The park's saftey record is not very good at all.

damn, that's some scary stuff right there. I still don't get how the person could have fallen out. A few of the coasters I've been on may have made it possible if the person was REALLY skinny...but I doubt that was the case here.

Am I the only one that is able to fall asleep or have normal conversation on any roller coaster? We have this crazy wooden one here and I hopped on with a few friends...two of them wouldn't stop screaming, the other wouldn't open his eyes and me...Me and some other guy just dozed off while we were being thrown side to side from the jerkyness of the ride :p. The next time through we sat together and ended up talking about an upcoming physics assignment :odd:

at six flags great america, the demon broke an axel and got stuck upside down. it was on the news. it was upside down for like 4 hours. the demon also has a history of the train bumping eachother and giving people whiplash.

STFU Theresa, you insensitive bast*rd. This is a thread about a guy dying and all you can do is to throw a weak insult at Jpec.

Change your sig too. It's too long.

That's sad. Tercel_driver (Theresa) has made 1807 posts, and is a "Cool Member". And everyone is annoyed by him for acting like an idiot.

A fat guy fell out of the superman at my six flags too, It was a year or two ago because the thing wouldnt lock because of his weight, Thank god for him he fell off at the end at the lower part and not the 205 feet in the air hill.

Edit- The guy near me didnt die

I rode the Superman Ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain and I'm having a hard time understanding how it could've happened. I think they said it happened at "the end" of the ride. This part of the ride is level. You go straight, then up, then back down. He must've been screwing around or something. In any case it is very sad and makes me a little wary of rides. I mean, that's the kick, right? Fear of death?

They're not the same ride. This ride is the the fastest roller-coaster in the US, if memory serves me correctly (topping at about 80 MPH). There aren't any flips, although there are a few wave-patterned hills that occur very quickly and are very high (seriously; if you're not holding onto the handle bars and pinning yourself into the seat, your bottom is lifted by the velocity). I can see how the man fell out at the end, as the first time I went through it I thought I was going to (and just at that one hill too). The first hill's not so bad, just a quick change in direction which would've sent the guy flying into the lake that is in front of you at that point. However, the second hill peaks and brings you back down just short of the framework for another part of the ride. If he were to fly out there, he'd impale himself on framework, breaking his neck and back, and killing himself almost instantly. The thing is also that the seatbelts do almost nothing for you (unless you tighten them to the point of not breathing at the beginning of the ride). If they were to install a 5-point seatbelt system it'd probably be safer...

edit; he fell out on the last corner. What I want to know is how in God's name did he manage that one?

No at Ceder Point the top thrill drag shoots you to 120 MPH before you hit the 400+ Ft hill

Well then I guess my memory isn't serving me correctly :p

Err. Now im even more scared of roller coasters.. (Like i'd ride anything faster than kiddy coasters that go 15 mph)

I think I should start a "petition" to ban Tercel.. I don't think 1 person in gtp actually likes him.. :trouble:

Superman is just a strictly flat speed, straight up, drop down, backwards back into the station.

I didn't mean that. The thing I was talking about happened in Finland.

For those of you who didn't know, I worked at a theme park. Recently, the stagecoach crashed when one of the horses went crazy and ran really fast (about 25-30 mph.) around a gorner and crashed ad the stagecoach crushed it and another hoarse. Some people were slightly injured.
There was also another incident where some fatass threatened to sue for discrimination when ride attendants told her she was too large to ride. Her fat ass fell out of the rollercoaster and fell to her death.

GOOD!! She was warned before time, but insisted on doing it. Gawd I hate those type of people.

Uhh, nope. You have the wrong park, my friend. This superman is a 2-mile coaster that goes in a circle. You leave the gate one way and come in another. (although the drop is pretty insane; something like this:)

..../|
.../ |
../. |........__
./.. |......./...\......___
/.... \___/......\__/

then it curves around and does a few more tight turns and stuff...

Quite a while ago there was an incident on Brighton Pier on the south coast of England where a dumbass rollercoaster attendant let a group of people on, forgetting that it was closed for repaires and there was a section of track MISSING!!! The guy that was on the front car said afterwards "As we came round the corner I thought to myself 'thats weird, it looks like there is a bit of track missing' I thought it was just part of the ride and that we would turn and follow another route. But as we got closer I realised and that is when we all started screaming 'STOP THE RIDE!!!'" The attendant hit the e brake just in time and the front wheels of the front car were haning over the edge with nothing below but deep sea and all the occupnts were straped securley into a 500lb car!! The scary thing was that I had been on it a few weeks earlier.

That's "Superman: The Escape" - a ride which is only remarkable for the fact that it's the fastest accelerating rollercoaster on Earth, and at the top you get 2 seconds of weightlessness...

It's a bird.....it's a plane.....no it's only a man falling out of a rollercoaster!!

Can you say freak acident!!
