Don't see what the big deal is...

Awesome video. Some of those drift angles were crazy. And... drifting on a banked oval? Now I've seen everything.

His fiesta looks fine when compared to the new subaru, if it was an older model it may have been different (like a 2005 model).

Does anyone know if the car had been modified so that it is a 4WD instead of a FWD? Is that type of thing even possible in a FWD?

Pretty much every WRC car has to be modified to accept AWD... even those that don't require modification (the Impreza and the Evo) are vastly different under the skin than a "stock" car.

I had no idea. Thanks niky

God himself, couldn't drive a FWD car like that.

Granted... I don't know Ford has considered possible AWD in engineering the Fiesta platform... the C-platform under the Focus, in its Volvo iteration, can take AWD... and there's indication that Ford may release an AWD subcompact crossover based on the Fiesta... so it might be possible in the future to see an all-wheel drive turbocharged Fiesta in the showrooms... but given that such a halo car would hurt sales of the Focus ST and RS... it's probably never going to happen.

I like Gymkhana_THREE and I don't like it. I like it in the sense that it's much more technical than its predecessor. While things like the lightbulb smash were showy, there wasn't a lot of technical complexity in the actual driving compared to Gymkhana_THREE. But at the same time, Block doesn't do a hell of a lot in this video. The banked section of the circuit is exactly what we've come to expect from him, but a lot of it was just repeating what we've already seen. While things like the exploding truck and the lightbulb smash were showy, they were also very original.

Pretty sure the car Block drives is based on the European spec Fiesta Rallycross car. The specs for Pat Doran's car are below... I think the rallycross cars have to run a restrictor in the turbo, hence the lower quoted power.

ENGINE 2.0 litre Julian Godfrey Engineering Cosworth YB in-line four cylinder, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, alloy cylinder head, cast-iron block

Putting hip hop and rally cars just doesn't do it for me, more like cold wet mornings sat by a Welsh B-road with a flask of Bovril.
