It should be ready to play in about an hour. I wont get to play until late tonight. But once I play I will post screenshots.
 
I played the Episode 1 tonight for about an hour or 2. So far its extremely fun. If your a Half Life 2 fan you will really enjoy this. The graphics are quite nice in HDR in 1280x1024(LCD) all settings as high as they can go.
22 screen shots so far. I am not sure how to tell how long I have been playing but I posted the play time in the first screenshot. The other screen shots go in order of game play. There is one level I didnt get any screen shots.
















 
Yea I played it as soon as I could, and got pissed off when the game crashed for the 5th time.
 
I went over to valve's forum and Im not the only one with this problem. Seems like most of the people who are playing it have having crashing problems, and no one knows why. It sucks harsh. I cant play for more than 10min without a crash.

You think that's bad? I can't play it at all - it grinds down to a halt when it's done loading some 60% of the first level. I haven't even seen the intro yet!

I do say, way too short but quite entertaining. Here are some shots from the whole game and it might contain some spoilers but I didn't take shots of all of the cool stuff.... Look at your own risk.

I think I read that separate teams are working on the two, or that was for that SiN episodes game. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a similar system for HL2, either way.
 
I finished it tonight. It was quite a fun game, I enjoyed it. The ending was too hard for me, though :( I had to switch it to easy.
 
Thanks for the spoiler warnings Pako. I will come back to this thread after I beat the game. Im actually avoiding it because I know its a short game. I want to be able to enjoy it as much as possible. So I wont be back in here until I beat the game.

I thought it was very short! I was just getting into it when I got chopped off by and ending. It is there way of setting the hook, line and sinker for episodes to come. At $20, I really don't think I got my money's worth out of it. I guess I'll go back and beat it on hard.
 
Or you could play it with commentary turned on. :)
 
Just started to play it and goddamn it looks great and I appreciate the way you have to look for opportunities to solve "problems". Really really great. Activated the comments first but I think I should play Episode 1 again with comments. Now I just wanna focus on the game.

Have just met the first Zombine :D

I'm excited how it'll go on. All the peeps are well animated. Try to light with thew torch into Alex' face. Brill thats all I can say :)
 
For some reason EP1 seamed way better than HL2 itself, like the puzzles were way better then HL2's. and it ran way smoother than HL2 did (but i also had just put in a stick of 512mb ram in on top of my 256mb stick for a total of 768mb). But did anyone else notice that valve is putting areas cut from the game's orignal story back.

For example when Alex plays Mossmans transmission in the citadel, i noticed 3 things
1. Shes wearing a big winter coat.
2. Theres definite wind blowing in the background.
3. when the camera falls, outside is white.

which leads me to conclude that she is in the weather control station across the ocean from C17. Which must be accesed by the Borealis.

Also in the EP2 teaser, one of the scenes shows a large building in the distance with large amounts of smoke coming from it. This is the Air Exchange.

This is pretty sweet considering they were areas cut from HL2's original story.

And I am pretty sure that those places are Weather Control and the Air Exchange, since I have played the beta versions from the 2003 leak, and these areas where in it (well if you had the leaked worldcraft maps that is)

But it looks as if valve is just making the orignal HL2 story as these new episodes, somewhat.
 
I just beat Episode 1. Probably between 6-8 hours taking my time and enjoying the scenery. Well worth the $17.00. I took a ton of screen shots but Pako pretty much took all the same ones I took. Cant wait until Episode 2. :)👍 Hopefully the puzzles will be harder on episode 2. On the very last level I just kept hitting the F5 button every second and it looks like Pako did too. :)

Damn. I ha this feeling when I entered the train that it opculd be the end :(

Well at least it was a fab episode not too long and not too short. The puzzles were great and I had the feeling of having a bigger influence on the scene which isn't right, I know.

Will play LostCoast now or play it with commentary again :)
 
I too beat Episode One...very fun indeed. My GeForce 6800XT arrived after I beat it though, so I never really got to play it all the way through on high settings like I can now :(.
 
It was actually longer than i thought it would be, i got the impression that it was only a couple of hours long but i managed to stretch it to about 6 or 7 hours :D

How often have u used the reload button mate? :D Well took myself time to play it and the coolest thing was Dog throwing u into the citadel. Really cool stuff!

So so, short bursts :D OK mate I understand! I didn't play long sessions. I still enjoy the look at the citadel.

Argh have to play some PES5 now!
