Whoa this game looks awesome! You can shoot your own portals onto walls! The exit and the entrance! WHOA!
At first glance the portals remind me a LOT of what PREY did. I wonder if this portal game will also allow you to walk on ceilings and walls like PREY?
This game will truly separate the men from the boys when it comes to advancing through the game. :sly:

I started watching the video, and im like, this isnt a trailer, this is just some commentary about the portals.....lol

The game looks great, another confusing challenging game like Prey :)
 
This is much nicer than Prey's where the portals where basically required. It was just a different kind of "doorway" to the next area.

This, however, is much cooler with the fact that it will be used to solve puzzles and gain leverage on the enemies.
 
Holy ****, that looks insane. After playing Prey for a while my friend and I have come up with a solution.

We're gunna take some aspirin before we start playing next time, Prey on a 70" TV, seriously messes with your head.

But back to Portal, wow that looks amazing and I'm sure it's gunna totally mess your thinking process up, the portals, and the jumping and teleporting, and gah.....

I agree this game looks like it got a lot of influence from PREY. I beat PREY last night and gave it a 9.0 in the PREY thread. 👍
Looks like games with portals are the next big thing for FPS. Thats a good thing. :)
I agree this looks even better than PREY which I liked a lot.
 
This game looks so cool, I can just imagine an enemy running towards me, then me shooting a portal in the ground so he falls into it. That would be so cool!
 
Well you'd have to make another portal for him to exit before he falls through it. Say maybe open up a portal where a guy is running towards and maybe make him exit on a hmm...Box of C4?
 
Guys did you remember this game first showed up about 5-10 years ago, and then it went away never to be seen again. But that was until now buds.

If this game is even half as good as PREY then it will be very good. Prey was excellent. I beat it last week and loved the game. 22 levels. The beginning level was aweful but once you get past that each level gets better and better.
Valve makes some of the best games so I am sure Portal will be beyond impressive. 👍

No I'm talking about Portal, I think Portal thought up the portal's idea way before Prey?

Dang that game looks sooo fun and complicated!! I love puzzle solving games like this involving physics. :dopey:

I was going to until I found out it would be on the 360. The graphics wont be as good but I will at least get some achievement points for it on the 360 version. :sly:
Still want to know when its coming out.
 
Not sure what they'll do to make it look better, maybe add HDR (wasn't in the original HL2 remember) and possibly higher res textures. I think you can download a high res texture pack for HL2 anyway, I remember MachOne mentioning it once.
