handbrake mod switch issue

hey everyone. ive just completed the hand brake mod for my g27. no it seems to work fine but. the hand brake works more like a light switch. hit the button and it stays on, then hit the button again and it turns off. i bought a heavy duty car door button (the one that controls the interior light). is it possible that ive bought the wrong switch. its not just the switch thats doing it but rather the wiring all together. im lead to believe this is normal as everything still works.

i have fixed the problem! everything i did was right. i have just used the wrong type of switch. also worked out that when i tried to fix the problem. i was always parked, kinda forgot the game has a park brake function.... doh!
