Me
Pretty relaxing, actually. Got up this morning around 9 AM, came down to a bundle of cards and a package. My Nanna gave me a card which was from almost
all of my many, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Inside I found $400! Turns out they all threw in little bits of money and it ended up being quite a large amount! I then found out that my parents were on their way to buying me a car, and that I didn't have to pay anything at all (but I will anyway). That almost topped my morning off.
Then I found that this package was from a good friend who I haven't seen in about three and a half years (though she regularly sends cards, which she puts a lot of effort into). It contained some Cadbury Favourites (oh
yeah) and a
heck of a lot of lottery tickets! I won $11!
Tonight I'm going out to a Leagues Club to have dinner with a heap of mates, a few relatives and some family friends, and probably knock back quite a few drinks (cheaper at Leagues Clubs than Clubs and Pubs). Afterwards, my mates and I are off to hit a couple of clubs, and then we'll head back to a nearby mate's house, where I just know they'll finish me off with some back up "refreshments".
I then have to work the next morning at 11 AM.
Well, I just had to put this somewhere. I can surely say that I have had the best night of my life, and the best birthday ever. I have the best friends that anyone could ever ask for, the most awesome parents in the world, and a bunch of amazingly beautiful relatives!
Where do I start? I am in an indescribably overwhelmed mood right now! On top of all that I have just quoted above, I will follow on. I went out to the Leagues Club and waited there for a little bit for all of my mates to arrive together. There was about fifteen of them (including Blake!). I got a giant beer glass from my cousins, in the mix!
When my friends all arrived, I was dragged out to the front of the Leagues Club and told to close my eyes. It took a little while, and I swear you could physically see the excitement in the air around me. I had no idea what to expect, and one of my friends had been making me worry a little over what exactly they had got me (my best guess was a giant ...
erm ... self-pleasuring device). I was spun around a few times and guided outside with my eyes closed backwards ... I guess just for their own amusement! I was allowed to open my eyes, and there was all of my mates standing around me, with a few of them holding a gigantic gift.
I had no idea what to expect. I still kept my previous guess with me, though. I unwrapped it and found that all of my friends had chipped in money and bought me a brand-spankin' new, very nice Bass Guitar! Now, I have been wanting to learn Bass for god-knows how long. I was completely speechless, amazed, overwhelmed and in disbelief. I'm not sure how long I sat there with my mouth open, you might be able to go to Blake for the answer to that question. It wasn't just any old Bass either, it was one that I had seen before in a local Macron Music store for a fairly hefty price (well, fairly hefty for my friends to go to all of the effort to buy that for little ol' me)!
It's a
Cort GB34A, which can be found by clicking that link and scrolling down to the bottom row of guitars, on the left. I took a picture, anyhow, which can be viewed below.
I, personally, absolutely love that colour.
Either way, I can not possibly describe in words how I am feeling right now. I could possibly describe it in facial expressions, though! I am in utter astonishment at my friends. If it were legal, I would probably marry each and every one of them right now!
To top it off, my parents paid for everyone's dinners. Then, basically everyone shouted me a heap of drinks. I gambled a dollar and ended up winning two more! I downed a Bundy, Jack Daniels, a Jim Beam, a Tooheys Extra Dry, some Baileys and a Carlton Cold (no, Brett, not Carlton Cole), and then headed off the Iguana Joe's (a club just around the corner). I got inside and grabbed a double Canadian Club, and headed off to meet up with everyone. I had the best time. After another Carlton Cold, two Smirnoffs, another Tooheys Extra Dry, a Jim Beam, a Smirnoff and raspberry, another Carlton Cold, a Black Sambucca and a Jägerbomb, I had won a game of pool, and danced for a bit.
Oh man. As I was fairly drunk, I casually decided to walk up to one of the most gorgeous girls that I had seen all night and ask her to dance. She said yeah, and I talked to her all night. She was a 25 year old girl that had just moved four weeks ago from Manchester, England. She looked no older than 18 or 19! We parted ways for a bit, and she kept coming back for a few dances, and hell, the woman even waved at me from half way across the other side of the dance floor.
Oh yeah. You can bet she looked good on the dance floor. I lost her eventually, so I blew my chance at hooking up with the hottest European girl I'd seen at the club.
Either way, I enjoyed myself a lot. The best night I have ever had. I made it to work okay, and surprisingly I felt fine (I don't get hangovers). I still feel fine at the moment, and I've actually been into the Baileys again!
Anyway, I apologise for the long rant, but I am in the best mood possible right now! Best birthday ever. Best present ever. Best night ever.
Time for another drink!
NOTE: In that picture, certain things look pink, when in fact, they aren't. My camera
sucks.
