Yes, anybody who drives to school or plays any sport is put into a random pool for drug testing. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Our school is one of the first in the area to do it. We used to have a huge heroin problem, and a huge drug problem in general...something like the 6th worst in the US. Drug testing hasn't really helped that much though. The kids who are really serious with drugs don't drive to school or play sports anyway, so they're exempt from testing.
So what is it initiated by the police then. Because isn't it surely illegal or something for the school to ask the kids for urine samples, bloodtests and the sorts?
The most our colledge could do is ask to search your bag, and that's about it. They can't even really lay a finger on you.
Happy Birthday, d00d! Random drug testing sounds like it sucks. I don't see why it's anyone's business if you, at 18, do drugs. I suppose it is one thing if you are 12 or 13, but you be 18, d00d.
