Happy Birthday freezemachine!

Have a crash on me

My first computer was an IBM and lasted for 5-6 years, until the power supply decided to die. Happy Birthday

The first PC (IBM):
4.77 MHz Intel 8088 microprocessor
16 kilobytes of memory, expandable to 256k.
came with one or two 160k floppy disk drives and an optional color monitor
costed $1,565 ($4,000 today)

2006 Dell XPS:
Intel Pentium D 3.00GHz, 800MHzFSB, 4MBCache processer
up to 640GB memory
19in. flatpanel moniter
Single and Dual DVD and CD Drive/Burner available and even a 3.5" Floppy Drive
costs a little under $1,000

We sure have come a long way in just 25 years.

My computer in 2031:

Intel Pentium 10 Pentacore Processor (15.6GHz)
2TB of RAM
400TB, 50,000 RPM, 128MB Cache Hard Drive
nVidia GeForce 15000 GTXSR 1TB VRAM Video Card

etc.
