Be it Summer Solstice or Winter Solstice in your part of the world, just about 2 hours ago was when the Earth's axis tipped from one side of the Sun to the other. Today is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and the shortest day in the Southern Hemisphere.

For us northerners it marks the beginning of Summer and the celebration of plenty and fertility. For the southerners it marks the beginning of Winter and the season of reflection, with the knowledge that the days will be getting longer and soon Spring will return.

So get out there and attend your favorite Pagan ritual (blood sacrifices excepted) and mark this day well.

It barely gets dark here at night this time of the year.

Living here is awesome right now but sucks when it's winter, it's only sun a few hours per day at winter. 👎

I don't know any pagan rituals so I'll just celebrate this with a nice glass of cold water and an hour at gtp.

Im glad winter rules, Im enjoying all the rain we've been having for the last few days, since we had months and months of no rain.

Stonehenge will be packed out tonight!

I was looking in the TV guide the other day and i saw: Stonehenge - LIVE!!

Stonehenge is great!!!

I saw an Apache, 2 F15s, A Jaguar (jet), a Tornado (another jet, I know what you guys are thinking) and a Hawker Gnat. :D Them rocks just got in the way.

I woke up at sunrise and spent most of the day doing what I love to do best. Playing with my boys and spoiling them rotten. We went swimming in the morning, then built a fort out of couch cushions and blankets, we washed Bob, played spin the bottle (loser had to kiss mom), we watched movies and cartoon shows, we played a board game (Star Wars), drank soda and ate grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, shaved my head, played practical jokes on each other and told some really good booger jokes. When just got done playing baseball and then swimming again. They're outside getting Bod dirty again and I'm finally taking a breather.

Later on, we'll BBQ some hot dogs and burgers and eat them with chips & dip. Then, off to my oldest son's allstar baseball game practice and back home for some more TV and then finally bedtime.

The day just feels good, because they found that missing Boy Scout, who was missing for four days, alive and well. This day is going to be awesome! So far it is.

Happy Summer Solstice, indeed! This one hasn't gone to waste!

Hmmm, the extra light after work will be nice. Maybe I will change my oil tonight.

Did it! 👍

I was disappointed to hear though that I missed out on a free food giveway a local reasurant was offering yesterday. Damn, got to pay attention to these odd anual events, they inspire people to do weird things.
